We has an amazing time. The accommodation was just right for the two of us. The location was perfect for a very relaxing time and the views were absolutely incredible. There was nothing that we didn't like and would definitely recommend paying this place a visit. Thank you very much also to Leigh who was brilliant.

We always get welcomed as family here at Ionian Eye studios, and this time was no different.

Upon arriving we were upgraded to the “Premier Suite “as our favourite apartment was being refurbished. OMG, how beautiful is this adorable apartment!!

There is everything that you will need for your stay – and more!

The air-conditioned bedroom area has an amazingly warm and comfortable bed that I just wanted to have an extra half an hour in watching TV on the large screen each morning.

The living area has an ample sized settee, another TV, and a kitchenette area where there was everything that we needed to make ourselves light meals if we so wished.

Also In this room, there is a dressing table complete with a hairdryer and enough cupboard/wardrobe space for what we needed.

There are large patio doors in this room that open up to your own sun lounging area complete with comfortable padded loungers.

The bathroom has a shower with stylish chrome showerhead and matching handset and modern washbasin and toilet.

Outside there is a spacious dining area shaded by a bamboo ceiling and a delightful cosy seating area where we enjoyed having a relaxing glass (or two) of wine in the evenings.

But wait for it – I have saved the best until last – OUR OWN PRIVATE JACUZZI/HOT TUB which we relished soaking in almost every night listening to nothing but the crickets and the chirping of the birds. We thought we had died and gone to heaven!

I must add that there is also a fantastic infinity pool that offers sun loungers, shaded areas and a bar that also serves snacks… and If you take the 5-minute walk into the village you will find 2 supermarkets that sell absolutely everything that you need…and plenty of tavernas – many right on the beautiful and vibrant beach…but, in all honesty, it was our upgrade to this absolutely stunning, tastefully decorated suite (and the lovely Corfiot weather) that made our stay absolutely PERFECT.

Thank you, Costas and Leigh, for the upgrade – we now have a new favourite apartment!

These studios are modern, and very well looked after. This is our second visit and it’s great to see that they are continually investing more in the facilities, the new spa area is very good. The Serene Bar staff,Istvan and Emma, were brilliant and really helped make our holiday.

Stayed here for the second week in October and loved it. As we were here near the end of the season we practically had the place to ourselves - like having our own villa and pool. The weather was very kind approx 24C all week. The rooms are small but very well appointed and immaculately clean - thanks to the friendly cleaner. This property is about 200m from Messonghi village easy to get to but with the benefit of stunning views from the property. Leigh was a great source of information and very friendly - thanks Leigh. We do like to go to different locations but will be happy to return here and the wonderful, friendly village of Messonghi.

Messonghi would not normally be top of my list to visit in Corfu, but we were here for a wedding nearby at a beautiful venue. When booking accommodation, the Ionian Eye Studios looked to be one of the more luxurious places to stay in the area but ended up being bitterly disappointed.

We drove down from the north of the island on the day of the wedding and when we arrived, on the driveway there is a barrier gate and to open it you need a code. It wasn't very clear where to go to get said code as what turned out to be reception looked more like a sales office. The woman manning 'reception' looked confused when I said we were checking in (it was approx. 12pm) and said she was expecting us at 2pm (check in time). I had emailed weeks in advance that we were attending a wedding on the day of our arrival and requested an earlier check in to get ready in time. Luckily our room was ready and were given a very quick tour as the receptionist had to rush off and said to call if we needed anything. Bizarrely, after this, there was no presence of any management whatsoever at the complex throughout our stay.

The room was a lot smaller than anticipated and the shower room, or wet room was super tiny with a cheap shower curtain and no toiletries provided either. It felt like zero care or effort had gone into the design. I agree with some other reviews that there is no point in having a kitchenette when there are plenty of places in town to eat. It adds to the lack of space and i'm not quite sure who they had in mind to want to cook in a room where you can barely swing a cat in to then sit on a small balcony; which by the way had nowhere to hang wet towels, plus the bug screen to the balcony door felt like it would snap off every time you opened it.

The WiFi was also very poor.

The pool area looked lovely; surrounded by big beds with cushions and a bar at one end serving simple snacks. It had a chilled vibe but turned out to be a bit of a joke, especially the bar service. The lady working the bar had non-existent organisational skills and service was very slow. We waited about 20-30 mins for a drink which she had obvs forgotten so when we went over to check of its whereabouts she told us she was just making it. We overheard this excuse with nearly everyone at the pool along with food orders.....other guests were waiting 30 mins plus for a basic Greek salad.

We had a dip in the pool and noticed it wasn't clear and there was algae around the edge. We were grossed out even more when we spotted some living creatures in the water that you would normally find in a pond. It doesn't take an expert to know that the pool was NOT chlorinated; Algae will not start in water that has even a small amount of chlorine or bromine present. We politely mentioned it to the bar staff that there was an issue but fell on deaf ears. Surely this is a health and safety concern that needs to be addressed? I'd be very concerned learning if any of my guests got sick from swimming in my dirty pool.

Check out wasn't any better. We needed to leave before 9am and some random guy drove up as we got to the derelict reception. He tried to check us out but had to call for management to drive over when we refused to pay by cash. I accept that most businesses like restaurants want cash but we didn't feel particularly comfortable carrying around or leaving in our room hundreds of euros. It felt more like they were trying to avoid additional bank charges/taxes but that's not my problem!
