If you are looking for a classy Orient Beach experience (seems like an oxymoron, I know), this is your place. We spent the day here during a stop on Celebrity Cruises. We were able to use their lounge chairs (very comfortable and chic) for the day at no charge because we were eating and drinking there (the year before, they charged us for lounge chairs at Kakao beach even though we ate and drank there). My husband, 5-year old daughter and I had a wonderful day here playing in the sand and ocean. This is the north end of Orient Beach. Very quiet and peaceful. In other words, no loud tourists, music and few vendors. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed an array of seafood and salads and my daughter had chicken and fries. We had some lovely french champagne too. At the end of the meal, they brought the bill and a mysteriously looking glass bottle full of light-brown liquid. They also dropped off some shot glasses, with no explanation! So we helped ourselves and what a treat! Caramel liqueur. I am not a big liqueur fan (too sweet) but I must say that we enjoyed sipping on more than one of these lovely concoctions. Everyone dining had a bottle at their table at the end of their meals. So I suppose this is in place of mints! They sell about 12 flavours of their homemade liqueur at the cash register but we were worried the bottle would break in our lauggage, so we declined. If you are staying on the island, do buy some to take with you. We plan to go back and rent a place for at least a week. Palm Beach will be our first stop! Go for the tranquility, scenery and the food. You won't be dissappointed.

Our day on St. Martin was our 1st port day on a February cruise. We had a morning parasail booked and then planned on walking up the beach to the restaurant. Orient Beach is a nice long beach for a stroll. The parasail was near the middle and palm beach is near 1 end. It is an enjoyable walk.

Once at Palm Beach, we ordered some drinks and promised we would buy lunch when the kitchen opened. If you buy lunch you get a chair on the beach with a tray table and umbrella for free. Once settled in our chairs we got to meet Arno, our server for the day.

Arno was attentive, and friendly. He was around serving drinks, giving advice on the menu, taking our orders, and chatting with us about island life. But he never overstayed his welcome, and in a short time we developed a nice relationship.

Our food was delivered out to our chairs on the beach. The chicken was a little odd looking but tasted great, club sandwich was awesome, and the swordfish was very nice. The swordfish had the best presentation, the chicken had the best taste.

After lunch we swam in the ocean, enjoyed a "Presidente" beer, and lounged in the sun. Soon a family arrived and layed out their towels and coolers directly in front of us, between our chairs and the beach. The didn't even have time to crack their first drink before Arno landed on them. Quickly but discretely shooing them away from our chairs and out of our views. Thanks Arno.

They also have a quaint little gift shop. Our friends bought a little seashell diorama that the attendant packed and boxed up nicely.

The best compliment I can give them is; we intended to spend an hour or two and we wound up spending the entire day at the Palm Beach Club with our friend Arno.

We stopped for lunch one day and enjoyed the food. Nothing spectacular, but good. We went back to hang out at the bar one night and had a good time enjoying a beer on the beach while the locals danced the night away behind us.

We used this restaurant for lunch and found it to be fine. Most of the restaurants on the beach offer the same food - each done slightly differently. We enjoyed both the food and drinks here - the boutique too.
