beach is surely a plus, but the food sucks. we had the buffet on a Tuesday and the food was cold, taste average ok and to my opinion not very well presented. the staff was not very interested in serving duty and we had to ask 3 times for another bottle of water until it finally arrived. on the next table a woman was almost hit from a huge part of the palm tree which did fall down and destroyed her glass, what should not happen, especially as it was not a very windy day. the staff did not even said sorry or offered a free drink for the inconvienince ...

the rest rooms were filthy ...

i do honestly not understand why this place has such good reviews, but of course it is only my opinion and the one of my boyfriend, of course

Great value for $22 with excellent food offerings. Unfortunately food only lukewarm and management refusing to designate no smoking area turned us off. The French have a notion of being able to smoke wherever they are; the world has changed, mon amis.

We used Waikiki for a week only because the hotel we stayed at provided for chairs/umbrella with the price of our room. The chairs in the "Hotel Section" which is cordoned off from the paying public, have no pads, but the chairs were relatively new, and we found them to be very comfortable. Waikiki has a huge amount of space on the north part of Orient Beach with the capacity for hundreds of chairs. Most of the time, the chairs are jammed together, side by side. They charge $20 for two chairs with pads and an umbrella. It seems to attract cruise ship guests as well as other large tour groups. They have a nice, large restaurant and a gift shop with a good variety of beach apparel, souvenirs, etc. The menu is average, and they have a big, daily lunch buffet for $20 per person. The Sunday buffet is more.

The best part of Waikiki was our beach waiter, Maur (Mauricio). He was friendly and had a great personality. He took good care of our food and drink needs all day, and never missed a beat, as he hustled all over the Waikiki beach providing service to his customers. He is a great asset to Waikiki, and we hope Waikiki appreciates what a great employee they have in him.

The beach area at Waikiki is wonderful. The sand is clear white. The waves are natural and fun. We went around Easter and the waves were about 3 to 5 ft. They were fun to jump or ride, but they would knock you down. The atmosphere here is so pleasant and relaxing.

The food at the restaurant was good. Not over the tops though. We had lunch included with our cruise excursion so the choices were limited as well. grilled chicken was dry and the pork ribs were tough.
