“Best restaurant in the plaza!”

People queued up every night for Le Piment. The pizza and pasta were great, but the specials are really remarkable, many served with small copper tins of potatoes and vegetables. Excellent meats and other dishes.

“Delightful and reliable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

We were happy to find the little town center near Orient Bay that was comprised mainly of restaurants under the stars. We tried three of them, and found that we keep returning to Le Piment. The chef specials were terrific; even though this bistro projects an image of pizzeria/cafe, it has some interesting dishes and a serious kitchen.
The staff whirls around, and because this is a popular place it might be hard to get the check upon occasion, but relax - it's a vacation, right? go with it!
The restaurants in the Village do not compete with the beach bars during the day, and at night the beach places stop serving food. But all the food seems to be good. Best thing about Saint Martin is that it does not suffer from the "jerk this" and "stewed that" syndrome of so many places in the islands. The local barbecue places are good, but the French places are a treat.

“Great food at Orient Bay”

Small restaurant in the village at Orient Bay. Specials of the day were outstanding, and we listened to the server who encouraged sharing. Make a reservation as the place fills up.

“Fun place. Great food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

Le Piment is one of many restaurants in a 'court' at Orient Beach. The portions are huge so we shared a wonderful salad consisting of prosciutto, salami, grilled artichoke, eggplant, tapinade, marinated tomatoes, and romaine. For the main course we shared the osso buco served over fettuccine with a tomato sauce. Excellent choice and there was enough left over if we wanted to have it boxed. For dessert it was a molten chocolate cake....what could be bad? The total with a bottle of wine and a bottle of water was $122 plus a gratuity. Pretty standard for the better restaurants on the island. Don't forget, it's in Euros on the French side of St. Martin.
