Every time we come to St Martin we go to Le Piment...more than once. We have watched it grow from a gourmet pizza place to a full blown gourmet restaurant. We love it. The food is always excellent and delicious. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. The chalkboard specials menu is full of very interesting choices, so much so that you have to come back again and try another dish.
Just for a change one night we went to the Italian restaurant 2 doors down, sat down and looked at the menu, ordered a drink and then decided to go back to Le Piment. I was a little embarrassed to get up and walk back to the better restaurant.......but then that says it all.

It is our first stay in St. Maarten and so I spent a lot of time reading through the restaurant reviews and selected Le Piment as one of our dining choices. It did not disappoint. It is in the Orient Bay Village which is in the area behind the exquisite white sand beach. There are several restaurants surrounding the plaza but Le Piment was the only one that was busy. We were greeted by the owner. We had talked to her earlier in the day when were scoping out the location and checking the menu. She greeted us warmly, as if we were old friends. She is so passionate about the food that she and her husband serve. She will describe everything for you and when she is done, you want to order it all. It is open air dining and although there are mosquitos at the place we are staying, we didn't see a single bug. There isn't a view but it is entertaining to watch the kids play in the square and the people checking out the different restaurants and watching the owner at work. She gives her all to each and every customer. My husband ordered the duck with morel sauce and I had the veal tartar with morel sauce. Both came with a pot of specially prepared potatoes and onion. Very health portions. We were served very delicious bread while we waited for our meal. We also had a bottle of red wine from Argentina and a large bottle of peligrino. We were so full we had no room for desert. the bill came to $71 Euro. We were served a rum liquor (complimentary) at the end of the meal. That was a very nice touch. We will be going back at least one more time before we head home. PS if you have kids or just want a more casual meal, they also serve pizza that looked really good as well.

I just had the best tuna special ever. A combo of seared tuna, Cajun encrusted seared tuna steak and Raw tuna salad. Amazing sauce. Wife had the filet special always a gold standard. Owner is the best. Always welcomes us like locals never fails to remember us on our return visits. Finished with the lava cake and banana vanilla rum shots. Best establishment in Orient Village. Don't miss out.

We have been to Saint Martin 6 times and always have 2 to 3 dinners at Le Piment, Christelle makes us feel like we are back home each time we come to visit. The food is excellent, the best lasagna on the island, the pizza is fantastic, never a bad meal or a bad experience

One of the best meals we had during our 15 days in St Martin. Great food, service and presentation, worth every penny.
