I don't know where to start.. the website advertises recently refurbished, which doesn't tie in with the threadbare carpets. There is a constant atmospheric battle between the strong smell of cigarette smoke and air fresheners working overtime. The heating controls seem to be linked to a pad in the doormat and only come on as you enter the 'lounge' area. This part is dismal, dark and un inviting. Breakfasts are good but having some of the tables laid for the entire season untouched gave the room an air of Miss Haversham's home. Numerous dead flies had taken up residence inside the napkins.
On a good note, the hosts were very friendly and the owner insisted I took away with me a complimentary pen after only spending £100 a night....More
