We stayed at the Olympus Plaza for 2 nights in September 2013.
This is not your usual hotel experience in Sri Lanka. In fact, aspects of it are quite unusual. It's a huge, rambling place with a maze of stairs and corridors. On the top floor, of all things, is a huge indoor playground area with a small gym. This was a highlight for the kids.
The Olympus is located right on top of a ridgeline about 5 minutes walk into town. The views from either side are absolutely stunning - you can see for miles. Take your camera and make sure you're there for the sunset.
The rooms are just OK and are well due for a bit of a freshen up. Everything works, however, and they have a fridge and TV. There is no wireless available in the room, though it is reasonably quick and free in the lobby area.
The restaurant is excellent, with a professional chef preparing reasonably priced and very well presented meals. The service in the restaurant is outstanding.
Overall, a good choice in a lovely part of Sri Lanka.More
