The best stay we had during our honeymoon in Polynesia. The bungalows are fabulous and the decoration makes you feel at home in paradise.
Everybody was so kind with us, especially Eric and Nicole, the owners who are always up to discussion and to make you feel their love of Polynesia.
The food of the restaurant is marvelous, a real 5 star restaurant who deserve the best critics. Nicole always know how to mix the saviour, proposing one traditional menu and a polynesian one. You better have to try the Tiaré Marmelade on the morning ! A real treat for the mouth !
Definitely an adress to keep in mind ! We wish to still be ther, even if we went home 6 months ago, we still dream of this place and hope to come back soon.

Room Tip: Take the beach bungalow

Beautiful hotel at a good spot on the island. The food is fantasic and the owners very friendly. We've made a wonderfull excursion in the inlands to 3 waterfalls (les 3 cascades) and a daytrip on a yacht with 2 scuba dives. A lunch on the motu opposite of the hotel is highly recommendable. All in all a great stay and don't let the 3 star rating influence your choice, because it is as good as any other 4 star restaurant in French Polynesia.

This place oozed charm and informality. Loved our "beach house," the private island and the FOOD. Oh, the food! Wish we could have stayed longer. Eric mentioned that if you book through a site such as Expedia, the hotel does not get any contact information. They need to explain to guests that they plan to send a van to meet you at the airport. So if you book, shoot an email to the hotel, too. Email : resa@opoabeach.com. Remember that you do not have many transportation options on Raitea. While staying put at this hotel is a GREAT option, you may want a car if you plan to explore.

Room Tip: You have the option of being right at beach front. We weren't, and loved it anyway.

This is an excellent hotel. My wife and I stayed for four nights in June 2012 as part of our honeymoon. We stayed in several hotels on several islands and it was one of the best experiences we had. It is not cheap but definitely worth the money. We really enjoyed staying here.

When we arrived we were greeted by the manager (Lea) who throughout our stay was excellent – well organised, thoughtful, knowledgeable and helpful. We were provided with flower chains, a cold drink, cold flannels to cool ourselves and a beautifully prepared coconut to eat. We were given an overview of the hotel, facilities and activities. We were then shown to our villa, which had been thoroughly decorated with fresh flowers.

The villas are set privately around a pool and along the lagoon front. When we arrived we were the only guests on the first night so had the pick of villas. We went for the far left corner villa opposite the lagoon. The villas are very nicely furnished and well equipped with double sinks, lounge area, veranda with sun loungers and hammock, and four poster beds with fly nets. The hotel restaurant where we had breakfast and dinner each day was beautifully furnished in a similar style to the villas. The food was fresh, largely local and very well cooked and presented.

The resort was very quiet because it is small and located at the opposite end to the airstrip on Raiatea, which is a quiet island anyway. However, there were many activities to do including boat trips, diving, a boat tour of the neighbouring island Tahaa, canoeing, snorkelling, car hire and others. The hotel provided snorkelling and canoeing equipment free of charge, and also a free transfer to a small island near the reef opposite the hotel, where the snorkelling was excellent.

Overall a lovely hotel, lovely staff and a different experience from the more traditional hotels you might find on Bora Bora without sacrificing quality.

We stayed for 4 days and it does not get any better than this. Eric and his wife and staff could not do enough for you the attention to detail was amazing. The food was so good I put on 2 kilos ( it was worth it ). The service was excellent ( unusual for Polynesia ) from the time you arrive until you leave this wonderful place you are looked after. Would recommend this place to anyone wishing to find the best of Polynesian hospitality, in fact a must if you come to Polynesia.Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed here in July 2011 for 3 nights in a beach bungalow, the one completely on the left when facing the lagoon. We felt like we had our own private beach.
The nice thing about this hotel is that there are only 9 bungalows, nothing like the big resorts. It was quiet and peaceful. Food was very good. Not sure how expensive the food was separately, we stayed on half board basis, but compared to other places we stayed in in FP it seemed reasonable and we had the best food here.
Decoration was nice, very light, comfy bed and the room was clean. Everyone was really friendly.
There are some rocks in the water so maybe take your surf shoes. The view from the beach (and our bungalow) of the lagoon and it's motu was great.
We rented a car for one day to tour the island (Raiatea seems even greener than the other islands, it is so beautiful!) and the other day we went on the tour of Tahaa with Flo and Teva, spent a wonderful day.
We would definitely stay here again, only a bit longer so that maybe we could go on one of the (guided) hikes.

I stayed at Opoa Beach after a week of sailing and touring Bora Bora and Tahaa. Opoa was the perfect location to disconnect and recharge. It is away from any commercial area so it is quiet The bungalows are absolutely beautiful and very comfortable so I was quite happy to stay in and just enjoy the views. The food is excellent!! And the staff were very helpful and pleasant. This will be my go to place when I am back in the area.

Room Tip: All of the bungalow locations had great views
