We have just returned from a very relaxing 4 day break after the Xmas festivities. We wanted to go away for a new year chill out, which really worked well. We stayed in a Copper Beech cabin which was very well equipped and very warm on the colder nights. The cabin has everything you need for a lovely break away, even a celebration hamper was included (thanks Forest holidays, that was a nice touch). Check in was very quick as we had checked in online, staff are very friendly and helpful and the shop is very well stocked and reasonably priced. There are some lovely walks around the area but we were surprised that the forest paths down to the river have no markings or signs for directions. This forest is very dense and without maps it is very easy to get lost. Also take care when walking in the forest where the wild boar live, they do not like dogs, you have been warned.
Overall it was a lovely few days break with loads to do. Only criticism would be the cleanliness of the cabin could have been cleaner, dirty crockery, dust, cobwebs and dirty floors and windows, general housekeeping was not good. This may put me off further visits to these cabins.More
