The location is some distance (20-30 minutes?) from the airstrip, so we had an early game drive upon landing. So as not to disappoint, we encountered a herd of elephants on the way to the camp. Mama didn't like our intrusion so she, along with four kiddos, started charging us! Filmed the whole thing, complete with trumpeting, flapping ears, and flying dusts. We were bouncing all over the place, along with our duffle bags, trying to get away. Next day we were tracking some lions and found them eating a recently deceased elephant. As you can surmise, Splash Camp is close to big game. Not only that, the place is luxurious, with an outdoor shower! Food was great and the staff super friendly and accommodating. Drinks were always available. After an afternoon game drive, they even met us some place for a sunset drink/snack. There was even a boat ride safari--didn't see "game," just a crocodile and lots of birds. Terrific photo ops though. Maybe what impressed us the most was they were able to reserved 4 tents in a separate area to accommodate our four family units--total 10 people (2 kids, youngest 6). We had total privacy. Experience couldn't have been better.

Room tip: Tents have mosquito netting and outdoor porch. All great view and nice facilities. Must be accompanied by guide after dark.

This was our first safari and this camp exceeded our expectations! We had a great room that met all our needs and then some. The guides did a great job finding lions, cheetahs, elephants, etc. The food was great at all meals with snacks and drinks available. The people were all very nice. We always felt safe.

We stayed here for three nights and just loved it. Accommodation is spacious, clean and well appointed. Central areas were super too. Food was excellent and we liked the nice touch of eating out in the bush sometimes
Our guide Godfrey and tracker KP were amazing in sharing their knowledge of and passion about the animals we saw, and showing us how best to use our camera.
We had never been on safari before so didn't really know what to expect. But it was just fabulous. Would recommend it to everyone.

This was our first visit to Splash Camp, having stayed at Kwando's other two camps in this concession on previous occasions - Kwara and Little Kwara. Splash camp is lovely, with all the great touches you expect from Kwando - the only slight criticism is that it lacks the initmacy of the smaller Little Kwara camp.

The guiding here was great - Charles (who we had met on previous stay at Little Kwara) and KP. We saw three different wild dog packs, a chase and kill all within 24 hours of arrival!

Our stay here and at the next two camps were made more enjoyable as we shared a vehicle with a Dutch family - Charles picked us all up from the airstrip and decided that as we had shared interests we should stay together. The team then made sure we stayed together at Lebala and Lagoon - great touch!

Would definitely recommend this and other Kwando camps.

Room tip: Try to get a room close to the main building otherwise it's a bit of a hike!

Amazing game drives, food and people. However beware of the cold mornings, we thought tents would have heaters in winter for this price. Really happy with the rest of the experience and definitely would go back in summer but not winter.
