Pamilican Island Paradise
Reviewed March 26, 2012

This is what you can expect from a stay at the resort: a beach house away from the other tourist cottages all to yourself with a family and a security guard to cook for you and look after you (though we had to ask for rather than were offered information about the resort), huge and very reasonably priced meals, your own private beach (actually the whole island is your private beach as there are so few other tourists), interesting walks round the island which has a community of 200 friendly families, swimming and snorkelling, wonderful opportunities to watch whales and dolphins and plenty of peace and quiet - a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Bohol. We saw one or two motorbikes but no cars.
Things to be aware of: The island gets its electricity from a generator that only runs at night. The resort has its own generator that they switch on and off as guests require but you have to wait for the island generator to get a hot shower. It takes about an hour to get to Pamilacan Island and the sea was roughish when we went. Transport is by banca. There are a few small shops on the island and you can buy things like beer and snacks there. We stayed in the room at the front of the house. It's quite basic and could do with a good clean. However, we spent very little time in it and the verandah with its big wooden chairs and dining area were lovely. There's a TV but you can only use it to play DVDs or listen to CDs. There was a small selection in the room. There's no internet connection. The beaches are lovely but there are a fair few flip-flops etc washed up! The tree house advertised on the website had fallen into disrepair and was unusable at the time we visited.
All in all, this is truly a place to relax and get away from it all. We loved our time on the island.

This small hotel will be our best memories about Philippines. The personel - misstrees Lilja, cook, assistent, securety guard were very frandly and attantive. The meal was very healthy. Directly from the cost there are fine coral gardens, snorkeling was very good! On island no more then 10 tourists, so we feel owners of the island. We are very happy that have chosen this hotel
