The Imo Concorde Hotel as advertised on ypur site is located somewhere in Port Harcourt.
But thai is not true. The true location is Owerri, the capital of Imo State from where the hotel derived its name. Owerri is about two hours drive from the Port Harcourt airport whereas the Sam Mbakwe Airport in the outskirts of Owerri is just 20 minutes drive from the Hotel. The difference is that the Port Harcourt Airport connects international flights unlike the one near Owerri.
Port Harcourt is the capital of Rivers State as Owerri is the capital of Imo State.
Like most hotels in Nigeria, the problem of call girls is also noticeable at the Imo Concorde hotel but I observe that they don't choose you except you give them the opportunity. So simply ignore them and go your way. The persistent power outage in Nigeria is a serious issue and the hotel could do well to have automatic power switch from public source to their private source.
The traditional foods were great-- ugba, nkwobi and isiewu, all peperish beef sauce were really exciting.

I spent a few nights at Imo Concorde hotel in april 2005, and I was relatively happy during my stay. Although the hotel didn't live up to it's "5-star" billing - for the prices I paid (good size doubles from around £50 a night) I found the accomodation adequate.

We did experience a number of power failures and although they were generally very short (resolved within seconds) I was particularly unhappy when I was caught in a lift during once such power failure. The hotel also seems to have a problem with security, not within the premises itself, but the teams of call girls and young men hanging around outside of the gates, made leaving the hotel at night a harrowing experience.

On the plus side, I often didn't feel the need to leave the hotel during the night, with many attractions, including a very lively night club (which I greatly enjoyed) a casino, a gym and a 24hr poolside bar, with live entertainment.

I was told that the hotel had recently undergone a change of managment, and it seems that they are doing their best to turn things around.
