Amazing cottage. Pictures don't do it justice! Huge comfy bed, massive shower, roll top bath, quiet, well equiped kitchen. Took a bit getting used to the slightly brown water though.

Management Response
Jan 24, 2016
Thank you for your positive review, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. I hope the colour of the water wasn't too much of an issue for you. The water supply to the cottage is from a natural spring high up on the moor. After heavy rainfall the water can appear brown. The water passes through a UV treatment and filtration process in the shed opposite the cottage. It is tested annually to ensure that it meets legal requirements so it is perfectly safe, but it can appear a little odd after very heavy rainfall.

We are still driving home after a week at this wonderful cottage in the middle of nowhere - well 3 miles from Reeth.

The amenities are great, welcome pack great, super clean and cosy. Underfloor heating a plus in December. Nothing more we could have wished for.

As they weather was rainy to say the least, we had a few sunny mornings where we had some great drives around the dales. Having never been to this part of the country - it was just mind blowing.

Julia; thank you for checking in a few times with us.

We had a fabulous Christmas and will very likely be back next year!

Thank you Julia for a wonderful stay. A beautiful cottage, in a great location for walks. Cottage has everything we needed, the bonus of big beds, deep bath, monsoon showers, wood burner...Wish we could have stayed longer!

We loved this cottage, decorated and equiped to a very high standard with more than enough room for the 3 of us.
We got the feeling that nothing would be too much trouble for Julia [the owner] and that her aim is to ensure you have a good holiday experience. An example is the thoughtful welcome pack.
A lovely, quiet rural location with 2 pubs within walking distance [CB Inn, Langthwaite is the nearest].
Had good meals in the CB Inn and Farmers in Muker.
Would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage or the area.

This cottage is very well equipped and very tastefully decorated & furnished. All needs are catered for and the cottage is in a superb location. We have had many cottage holidays over the last 20 years and this is one of the best. The owner is very approachable and helpful. Highly recommended.

Great location with a handy pub 5 mins away. The cottage is perfect for 2 couples, bag the main bedroom if you want the best walk in shower room. We can recommend a great walk from muker down the river Swale. The place is quality. That's Yorkshire for you.

We had an amazing week in this cottage, which is beautifully furnished and equipped. Outside the front door is a glorious hay meadow with a stream running at the bottom.
This is the perfect holiday for walks and rambles over the dales and I would really recommend it to anyone wanting a total switch-off from city life.....
