we enjoyed a warm welcome at Hackney house after treking on the C2C from Keld. The accomodation was typical of good B&B, clean, good breakfast and adequate accomodation for one night . It is close to the town square, which boasts several pubs and tea rooms.,
all in all a good place to stop

A very warm welcome and overall this was a pleasant B@B - although the room was a tad cramped it had everything we needed, and the owner was very friendly. Excellent breakfast. On route of the Coast to Coast so perfect location.

On a cycling trip - second time we've stayed here and not regretted coming back. The proprietor makes you feel really welcome, tea and cake was put in the dining room for us when we arrived, the room/shower etc were absolutely spotless and really comfortable. There was a TV, books and magazines, tea & coffee in the room. Breakfast was cereal, fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, prunes), natural yoghurt, full English and as much toast as we wanted.

A very pleasant surprise to be offered tea and cake when we arrived after a days walking in the wet on the Coast to Coast route. Well appointed rooms with a choice of pubs for an evening meal in the village - we went to The Buck - vying to be the best pub in Yorkshire and with decent beer and good value food we wish them well!
Excellent breakfast - just what one wants for the next leg of the journey.

On arrival we were served tea and cake, very nice.
The lounge and bedrooms look to be recently decorated and furnished and was nice and modern. The Full English breakfast was 'just right'. There was newspaper to stuff in our boots, and clothes drying & cleaning was offered.

PS. we went to one of the pubs in the village down the road, I think it was Kings Arms? which served an amazing giant Yorkshire pudding meal, I had the lamb one and the quality and flavour of the whole meal was outstanding.

Stayed for two nights, bed was comfy and room was clean and well appointed excellent value for money. Hackney house is ideal for the coast to coast walk or just to relax in the dales. Enjoyed it so much we have booked to spend easter there. Reeth is a beautiful little village with three good pubs serving real ale and one had live music.
