This is heaven on earth. The peak can be reached from somwarpet or kukke subramanya.

1. Trek from kukke is very stressful. One has to trek 14 kms to reach peak. First 7 kms is through jungle and is very steep which leads to "Bhatra Mane" where one can have lunch. One can reach kallu mantapa which is about 2 kms from here after crossing forest department. You can taste mountain water here which puts mineral water to shame. The trek will lead to Bhattada rashi, Shesha parvatha and finally Kumara parvatha.

2.Trek from somwarpet is easy as one has to travel only 7kms.Take a bus from somwarpet bus stand to bidhalli . One can hire a jeep or walk to reach forest department which is about 3kms. Trek begins by reporting from here through the dense forest. After 4.5 kms one can take left route to reach pusphagiri (kumara parvatha) or walk right which takes you to girigaddey / battada rashi from where one can walk to kukke in about 5hours.

Trek to this place makes one feel how big is the nature and human a small dot.

It is a wonderful and toughest trekking, you can enjoy the beauty of nature. there are 2 ways to reach KP one is from Subramanya which is 13 km ( 2 days ) and other is from Somavarpet which is 7 kms (1 day ).We started our trekking from Subramanya, halted near kallu Mantapa next morning at 5.30 we started climbing up and reached KP at 8.30 it was really awesome. if you are planning to reach the peak on first day then you have to start early before 6 else you can halt near bhattru mane where you will get lunch you have to call him and pre-order it or near kallu mantapa which 2-3 kms away from bhatru mane where you will get water and flat place to put tent. seems in rainy seaon there will be leeches never plan this on rainy season.
Take precautions, proper planning and necessary things. Enjoy you trek all the best.

Kumara parvata or Pushpagiri is undoubtedly the best trekking destination in Karnataka. The trek starts from a place a Kilometer away from Kukke subramanya temple. Its Thick forest for the First stretch which takes approx 2 hours (time depends on your fitness in all streches !) till Bhaatramane (Bhats House) .Approximate Mid point for the first stretch being a Giant boulder on the way called Bhima Kallu (Bhima stone) .Second strech of the trek is from Bhattramane to Kallu Mantapa( Stone Gazebo ) and takes approx 2 Hrs and its mostly through dry grasslands.Third Stretch is from Kallumantapa to Shesha Parvata(Shesha is a Serpant diety and Parvata meaning mountain ) which again takes approx 2 hrs .And the Final stretch is from Shehsha Parvata to Kumara Parvata which is the toughest of all the stretches having to go through thick forest and boulders to reach the peak it takes Approximately 1 hr.Water is available in 3 places Bhattramane , Kallumantapa and a stream in midst of the Forest on the Final stretch from Shesha Parvata to Kumaraparvata.Water can be stagnant at times in the Final source so its advised to carry enough water required.Enough food may also be carried from Kukke subramanya if required .Simple Rice Sambhar Meal can be availed for nominal price from Bhattramane by informing the Headcount to Mr Bhat before stating the trek from Kukke Subramanya .An entry fee to the sanctuary has to be paid to the Forest guard near Bhattramane.

1st Stretch -6.5 Kms approx(From starting point to Bhattramane)
2nd Strech-2 Kms approx(From Bhattramane to Kallumantapa)
3rd Strech-3kms approx(From Kallumantapa to Shesha Parvata)
4th Strech-2 kms approx(From Shesha Parvata to Kumara Parvata Peak)

One can camp at the peak , Kalumantappa or bhatramanne .Kumaraparvata has everything for an adventure loving person.Thick foreset, drygrasslands,Hot Sun,Freezing Cold winds,Beautiful sunset /sunrise .Must visit!
