“Good place and nice Dharshan...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

The temple is well organized in terms of managing crowd. We were able to have a good Dharshan in 20-30 mins though we thought it would take more time as the crowd was more. You have 2 eateries serving decent food on the same road where the temple is. They are NeoCafe and Kumara Kripa. We had breakfast at the later as the first one was too crowded. One has to take tokens and self service.

“Nice ancient temple with lot of sanctity - but not clean”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2012

Such a nice temple with such sanctity. The administration has not at all kept it clean - not sure when they painted it last - floor dirty and bad crowd management. No proper toilet facilities and the surroudning are kept untidy. This is one of the richest temples but I wonder why they don't offer some minimum facitilies to the visitor and keep the premises clean.
God bless

“Highly Revered Temple”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2012

My family visited Subramanya temple during Diwali holidays ( Nov 2012). We had camped at Udupi and visited the Krishna temple, Aney Ganapathi and Kollur Mookambika Devi the first day.The next day we visited the Krishna temple and spent blissful 2-3 hours. Later we visited the Mahakali temple, the Malpe beach and the Shirdi Sai temple. We departed early morning from Udupi and drove down to Dharmasthala. After darshan of Sree Manjunath we headed to Kukke. The route was scenic, but most part of the journey was bumpy thanks to the poor road condition. We stayed at the Ashray Lodge. The room was not ready on arrival. Hence had to wait for an hour. The Rooms were alright ( I thought the tariff was 20-30% higher than it deserved). No dining facility .Just a coffee / tea vending machine. There are some decent restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance.
The Temple itself is a very holy place and one can feel the vibes as soon as one crosses the doorsteps. Even if there are large crowds one can expect to have a 1-minute glimpse after standing for 15 minutes in the Queue. Since we had a lot of time at our disposal we circumambulated several times and had good darshan. There is a small temple dedicated to Uma Maheshwar, where Brahmin pundits were chanting Rudram. The Pullak darshan was quite a surprise. At about 7.30 p.m. the Deity is taken in a procession inside the temple complex, preceded by a baby elephant ( facing the Idol and walking backwards). The Maha Arathi was a chaos, with barriers being put up randomly and no clear instructions on who should assemble where. It is unfortunate that most pilgrim places are only too keen on receiving donations but not doing enough to streamline the throng of devotees or make their visit comfortable. It is disgusting to be shooed away by the attendants even before one has had a good look at the Idols. In any case it was a spiritually elevating trip.

“Serene and peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012

A wonderful temple which makes you go in again and again....Something serene and devotional about the whole place!!!
And having a darshan is also very easy. In the mornings when there is a crowd, one can take a Special Darshanam ticket for Rs.100 and in the evenings just walk into the temple or if one wishes to avail the sevas by purchasing a ticket.
Subramanya swami here seated on a peacock which is on top of the hooded snake. And a half a KM away, there is Adi Subramanya temple on the banks of the Kumaradhara stream.
The whole place just next to Kumara Parvata is very peaceful.
Getting here is very easy as well as it is just 12 Kms from the Subramanya Road Station
