Situated in an ideal spot in Murudeshwara just off the beech and next to the Shiva temple, this hotel represents a missed opportunity. It has the potential to be the best hotel in Murudeshwara but has been left without refurbishment and care for a while and feels run down and old fashioned.
The whole hotel appeared dark and unwelcoming, the lobby and restaurant were uninspiring and we felt like we were being watched by the staff the whole time we were there. The rooms were adequate but the beds were rock hard and the electrics dangerous, we had to unplug the TV as the socket was throwing out sparks.
The hotel entrance was guarded though so we felt secure and it only cost £21 per night for two of us. There was an ATM by the hotel entrance so that was useful too.
We were only here for one night luckily and found a nice Hindu restaurant just outside the hotel grounds to eat. No meat or alcohol though, it appears Murudeshwara is a dry town. As stated before it's a shame as the surrounding area to the hotel is very nice and with a little bit of modernisation (and some lighting!) this hotel could be very decent.
