Very well put together, excellent visitor centre with a lots of displays about the history of the region and archeological discoveries, plus guides and graphics to help with deciphering the rock art. We spent around 40 minutes in there. Once done with the visitor centre you drive up to the rock art itself which is about 1/4 mile further on. the rock art is spread across a dozen or so locations connected by a well built walkway. It's pretty easy to spot all the different carvings, some are a bit more subtle, suggest you take along at least one sharp eyed child if you want to spot them all. Spent another 40 minutes or so viewing the carvings. The old visitor centre has been converted into a viewing platform from which you can look out over the escarpment and down onto the Caspian.

There's an air con cafe back at the car park, quite limited selection, mainly tea (obviously) coffee and ice creams, friendly people running it and great place to cool down.

Great walk in the National Park. The rock art was amazing. The museum was excellent. Not to be missed.

The petroglyphs on the huge rocks and boulders, exposed by earthquakes and quarry work, are simply mesmerising. Walk up the hill to discover a range of carvings from different animals to pregnant women and Viking ships, lending credence to the view that the Vikings reached Azerbaijan via the Volga river. Warning signs for snakes but no problem if you remain on the well-trodden paths! However, would recommend wearing trainers or sensible shoes. You are exposed on this site, so bring a sun hat and water. There is a two-floor museum (and lift) show-casing discoveries on the site as well as a toilet block and souvenir shop.

Very amazing place. After seeing Ice age carvings on the rock, we can just imagine how those people might be living at that time. The place has been developed with proper walkway trails. Toilet facility is available there. A small restaurant serves snacks.
This is a must see place.

Visited early morning where there were no crowds, fascinating place and lovely history. You only need an hour or so to walk around and would imagine it’s not so nice of full of tourists.

Interesting if you have an English tour guide who can explain it all. The history is not obvious if you do not.

It’s a good drive from Baku, but nice scenery en route!
