splendid hotel but don't tell anyone! Too good to share. suffice to say that everything was perfect but if we must share anything it would be the breakfast and the sea view. good starting point for coastal path walking and a visit to Jacques prevert's house is a must. ignore joke comments on the gym and the restaurant which don't exist - no problem.

What a beautiful place with a marvelous view over the bay. The whole atmosphere is so quiet and relaxing, and Nicolas Chanu makes you very welcome. As well as offering to make restaurant reservations, he even recommended a good restaurant in Versailles.
Breakfast is very good - the bread being excellent.

Room tip: The sea views are tremendous

L'Erguillère‎ is a fancy, very good inn rather than a regular hotel.

Let's start with (potential) inconveniences. The opening hours of the reception are pretty short, and the hotel itself closes at 8pm (you'll be given a code to access the back door.) There's no minibar nor fridge in the room and the hotel's café closes early – forget about a drink at the terrace, unless you bring your own bottle.

On the other hand l'Erguillère‎'s location is great; right at the sea, offering splendid views over the bay and the cute Port Racine. There are several nice walking paths in the neighbourhood.

Furthermore our room (#4) was clean and bright with brilliant seaview. The decor of our room was very nice: a good mix of cosiness and modern touch. The bathroom was ok – there was a bathtub and the quality of cosmetics was pretty good. (There were two minor issues related to the room: First, the only way to enjoy the sea view is to stand at the window. There's no armchair in the room, and you don't see the sea from the bed. Second, the walls are not sound-proof enough, and you can hear all the sounds from the neighbouring rooms. Forget about the privacy.)

There's a nice café in the hotel. Its decor is (just like in the room) cosy and modern. The café offers splendid view on the bay.

In sum, l'Erguillère‎ is rather an inn rather than a regular hotel. And it's a great inn.

Room tip: Ask for a top floor room with sea view.

Its not hard to be the best hotel in the area since all the others lag far behind in location, comfort and in service.

That said Nicolas Chanu, owner and manager, does anything but rest on his laurels and is constantly and discreetly looking to make guests stay as enjoyable as possible. From making reservations at local restaurants to preparing a fantastic cup of coffee that he doesn't hesitate to bring to you out through the garden and down at the port as one marvels at the wonderful sunrise over the craggy coast, Nicolas and his staff are always attentive to what might make his guests stay special.

Indeed, its more than clean and comfortable it is also very welcoming and homey.

Thank you Nicolas for a wonderful stay.

Such a quiet and peaceful place. When they say at the end of the world, it sure felt like that. The hotel room and bathroom was large and much closer to North American size than European. Breakfast was delicious - everything was very fresh and the french toast was AMAZING!

Only drawback was there were only 2 restaurants close by which didn't allow for much variation if you are planning to stay there for more than a few days. After 8pm the hotel was silent and the tv only got 5 channels. Great for relaxing but make sure you take a book.
