The hotel overlooks Port Racine, the smallest port in France, and also a beautiful bay and pastures. It's unique. The scenery around the hotel is so beautiful it's mesmerizing. I gazed at the view from my room, my breakfast table, and the terrace, where I enjoyed late afternoon drinks (the bar opens at 4pm--it may be open earlier, but I was out exploring). As I was there in early spring, I don't know about the hotel's summer hours.
I had reserved one night and stayed for four and loved every minute. I would have stayed longer but that meant I'd have extra charges for my auto rental and train ticket and hassles with my plane reservation.
Nicolas Chanu the owner was like a friend. He advised the best itineraries for my daily excursions to ancient villages, museums, Vauville Gardens, and a selection of good restaurants in the area.
This is my favorite hotel. Ever!!!More
