“Tasty and never rushed”
Reviewed September 9, 2012 via mobile

Great roast dinners and excellent service. Children looked after with colouring and great kids menu mine had homemade pizza and ice cream and my two year old had sausage and mash and ginger breadman. The most pleasing is that even though it gets busy they don't rush you off the table. Been 3 times now and will be back.

“Perfect menu”
Reviewed July 2, 2012 via mobile

Just had lunch there with 2 friends. The food is brilliant, with some dishes I have never seen in any other restaurant. Such as Pan Haggerty, ideal for vegetarians. Soup is home made, lovely desserts and cakes. Can't wait to try out evening menu. Would definitely recommend it. The farm shop is also superb. Worth a visit.

“Never disappointed”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

I live in London and visit family in Southport about once a month. In recent years, the most reliable venues for meeting my mother's expectations of good quality British "home cooking" with fresh ingredients are Homestead Farm and Cambridge House Hotel in Southport. (Personally I prefer limited menus as quality is less likely to be sacrificed.) Both are clean, pleasant venues for Sunday lunch whilst Homestead is much better suited for those in wheelchairs as everything is on the flat. (Easy parking and lovely loos too!) Margaret, her husband and staff are most friendly and welcoming, efficient and proud of their Lancashire specialities. Whilst it is not Michelin standard, it is somewhere I feel I can take my fussy French friends to and show how UK farms can diversify! My only criticism is that for a leek farm, they don't seem to serve many leek dishes! Overall I see it as good value and superior to most pub food in the area.
