Have just returned home from this fantastic place, the owners have made this place into one of the nicest places in France i have ever been, the setting is stunning, the facilities excellent and I was sad to leave. There are so many things to do at the property that if you didn't want to get in the car for a week you would be fine, if you were up for sightseeing your spoilt for choice, from chateauxs to gardens, museums and beaches, war graves and museum in Bayeux are a must.
Thank you sid and zeena for a truly memorable stay and your hospitality and kindness, we will definitely be seeing you soon, your property is a credit to you and all the hard work you have put in makes this place truly unique. Nicci,Brian,Emily and Harry.

This was our second visit to Le Pont D'Albart having stayed in one of the gites about 3 years ago. This time we opted for the extra space in the Farmhouse (not that the gites are small, they're also quite spacious) and it was fantastic. As usual the place was spotlessly clean and as the supermarkets were all closed (Sunday afternoon arrival) the owners (Sid and Zeena) raided their own larder and fridge so we had things to cook with that evening.

The grounds are well kept by Sid on his tractor and with his 9 year old sidekick Luc and they're a delight to stroll around or just to sit in and watch the birds and wildlife.

There are 4 gites in all, but fair and sensible (but nowhere like over bearing) rules mean that the noise levels rarely get above silence. For example, the games room (snooker, table tennis, table football) and swimming pool are closed at a reasonable hour in the evening. To be honest, if you've been to one of the many nearby, deserted beaches all day, or strolled around the excellent Briquebec markets or visited the D-Day museums, you'll be too tired to stay up too late in any case...

At night the silence is absolute. Only the occasional hoot of an owl or bark of a fox can be heard.

The owners couldn't be friendlier (see above) and Sid is always on hand to give out advice on best beaches, walks or restaurants etc.

There's a super market in nearby St Saviour le Vicomte as well as boulangerie and charcuterie, cash machine etc. But it's not busy so parking is never a problem.

There are lots of sandy or rocky beaches within a short drive (empty roads, empty car parks, no parking fees - even in August) and the D-Day museums are only about 30 mins drive away.

The ferry from Chedbourg is about 40 minutes drive, slightly longer if you go for the beautiful scenic coastal route. If you have a wait before your ferry, the Cite de la Mer museum with its nuclear submarine is a must.

There are a distinct lack of restaurant's nearby, so don't expect drunken strolls back from a belly full of French food in an evening, but towns like Briquebec and the coastal villages all have a good choice of restaurants - Carteret seems to have the biggest choice, especially if you like seafood - drive towards the beach along the harbour front for an additional selection.

I can't recommend this place too highly. We will be going back at some point, no doubt about it and it's a place where families, couples or friends will enjoy.

Room Tip: The farmhouse is worth the little extra.
