We stayed two nights at the Palicio and really enjoyed the experience.
A beautiful old palace which has been restored in an exciting and creative way with a touch of Gaudi and a touch of Dali! Our room was beautiful, two balconies, luxurious bedding toiletries etc. The dining room was beautiful, the food was delicious and service was excellent making a most memorable stay.

A fantastic hotel, superb renovation with modern and old, we only booked a couple of weeks before and ended up with a room on the front . French doors to our balcony from both the room and bathroom. The staff were superb(even friendly).Excellent location for Santander and we only paid £50 inc Breakfast.

If you love a beautiful historic Hotel this is the palce to be. nearby (35 min. from Santander) in a quiet little valley. Friendly staff. Hotel is over restored, but still is full of charm. We had a dinner reservation in the hotel, but experienced one of the worst dinners in time. All meals were pre fabricated and probably warmed up before serving. Hotel can be recommended, but do not go there for dinner.

We've just returned from a great weekend in the Pas Valley. We were hosted in this hotel and it has been a wonderful experience.

It is a 1719 building, renewed with new style but mantaining some classic furnitures. Each floor is painted in a different colour (1st, red, 2nd green, 3d blue) and some rooms have balcony (ours -106- had two, one from the room and another from the bathroom and it wasn't a suite!)

The Hotel has free parking, useful staff, and a small summer swimming pool. Out of season it is also increadibly cheap (50-100 euros). A tip: try the restaurant of the hotel -Iniro- which is a bit expensive but extremely good (39 euros + VAT without wine).

And one you're there go to Vega de Pas (16 km) and eat "Cocido Montañes" in "Casa Frutos" and after go for a walk to Yera (3 km) to see the abandoned phantom rail station from the never built Santander-Mediterraneo line and one of the sides of the "Tunel de la Engaña" tunnel. The history worths a visit!
