“Nice Restaurant”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

Had a voucher for this restaurant and was very pleased with the meal myself and my wife received. It was great value . Two large red wines which was nice. Unlike a previous review we found the staff very attentive . Only gripe was my wifes fillet steak was well done instead of medium but still delicious. We had a lovely evening there and would recommend it. We will return. Thanks for a very enjoyable meal.

Dear jonas51,

Thank you for the review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your evening with us. We understand how important it is to get the temperature of the steak right and we are sorry that it was over cooked.

Thanks again for the review and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Kind Regards,

Karen & Aogan

“Average food, unpleasant staff”
Reviewed April 14, 2014

My other half and I had a voucher for the Spire and I had previously read reviews on tripadvisor and I expected a lot more from the restaurant than what we got. The staff were unfriendly and the female manager/owner who was serving us was in no way warm and was very unwelcoming towards us. The food was quite bland and average however, the restaurant decor was lovely and very romantic but the staff's attitude let the restaurant down.

Dear FoodAdventurer2014,

I am sorry you did not enjoy your experience with us. We are a bit confused about your review as we do not employ a manager and Karen has been on maternity leave for the past three months. We would appreciate if you could contact us to clear this matter up. We are happy to accept any genuine constructive reviews however we are a bit dubious about how genuine this review is.

Kind Regards,
Karen & Aogan

“Nice Restaurant”
Reviewed March 30, 2014

Had a nice meal in this restaurant. There were four of us and we shared starters (mixed olives, dips, flat breads and pitta bread) we all went for different mains, fish, steak, chicken and veg option and it was enjoyable. We shared two deserts, banoffi spring roll which was very stodgy. We also had two bottles of wine. The decor is really nice and it was very busy. Cost was €170 we had no vouchers. All in all it was enjoyable but not the best meal any of us had ever had.

“Hats off to The Spire Restaurant”
Reviewed March 28, 2014

My wife and I ate at The Spire Restaurant this week after it came highly recommended to us by a friend. We had a voucher like a lot of previous posters for a main course and starter or dessert plus 2 glasses of wine for €29. It sounded like good value so we gave it a go, and glad we did.

The Spire Restaurant is located in the centre of Duleek village with ample car parking available. The restaurant is located in a disused church, hence the name, The Spire. You enter into the dining room by candlelight. The management greeted us warmly and led us to our seats. We felt it was romanticesque with soft music in the background. The interior is decorated very nicely with a lot of cadbury's purple colour and cream.

We enjoyed our glasses of wine whilst we waited for our courses. The menu is plentiful with choices to suit most pallets. I opted for the Goats Cheese starter with Beetroot and Pineapple. My wife chose the prawns. We were not waiting long before being presented with two beautiful looking plates. Both meals were delicious, truly. I enjoyed another glass of wine whilst waiting on the main course. I ordered 'pork and black', two fillets of pork nestled on two slices of black pudding with salads and parsnips and potatoe gratin. My wife ordered the Sirloin Steak with potatoe gratin, parsnips side salads etc. Again we were not waiting long to be presented again with two delicious looking meals. We both cleared our plates clean, the steak was cooked to my wifes perfection and the pork fillets were succulent and mouth watering.

After our main course we debated on having a dessert. We were pretty full after our two courses and didn't want anything too heavy. We decided to share a chocolate layered dessert. It was delicious, light, airy and not in the least bit heavy.

Voucher or no voucher we will definitely be returning to The Spire Restaurant soon, great location, great service, great atmosphere and most importantly great food! a must do if passing through or by Duleek.

“lovely dining experience”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

We dined here on a sunday night using a voucher they had on offer. Made reservations via email which were answered swiftly. On arriving we were welcomed and offered drinks. We were served by a lovely man, friendly but give us plenty of time to chose. We ordered both red and white wine, the beef special and chicken main course. my daughter ordered half portion of beef as well. Looking around the restaurant it truly is a beautiful spot, lovely décor and spotlessly clean. Food arrived, hot and fab presentation and even childs portion copied adult presentation which is great. Food was amazing, best meal we have had in ages, the mash was just delicious. Desserts were served promptly after, again tasty and beautifully presented. daughter had a knicker bocker glory and it made her night. Small pot of hot custard with adults dessert was delightful!!
Bathrooms spotless and beautifully lit by two candles. The owners obviously take pride in their restaurant and we were treated brilliantly. A great place to dine and relax and will def be back when visiting meath!
