We booked this hotel for four nights and left as soon as we could arrange travel out of there. It is a glorified hostel and a dirty, smelly, unfriendly one at that. The rooms are run down, smell of stale urine, shower falling apart. The manager is unfriendly/ aggressive manner. The breakfast was absolutely disgusting - warm sweetened yoghurt, orange syrup and the worst coffee I've ever tasted. The rooms are located up many many steps and no staff will help you carry the luggage. The pool is worthy of being called a slurry pit - green slime that has clearly never been cleaned. The price of €150 per night is shocking beyond belief - I can say nothing good about this place. Any European Health and Safety officer would close is down immediately. And as for Lumbarda - there's is NOTHING in this town!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and to our surprise there was no air conditioning in the hotel rooms and it was 40 degrees. Further to add when we asked for have a room with air conditioning the hotel manager then asked us why we needed to have air conditioning!! The staff were really unfriendly and the hotel was very overpriced for what it was. Our room was run down and the shower was falling apart. The breakfast was also very ordinary and it really put us off staying in Croatia. I would never visit this hotel again and I would never recommend it to anyone visiting Croatia!

I wouldn't recommend staying here. Our room had peeling paint, stained bathroom with falling shower curtain, dated furniture and linens, balcony door that did not really lock properly. Charmless and expensive at 100 euro. Wifi does not go to rooms, many many stairs to climb and dark cluttered hallways to pass through. Disappointing, although the staff was pleasant.

Room clean and comfortable, bed very soft, location great, balcony view very very nice. Reception staff not so polite or attentive but that never makes an issue for me. No minibar and missing toiletries. Price was 92 E per night. Overall recommendable, just little bit over priced.

Stayed here with my wife on the "Backroads tour of Croatia".This three star hotel has a fabulous view from front rooms. Our room was on the second floor at the front with 86 steps from the lobby, no lift. Staff were great in transporting luggage. It was small, clean room, with two single beds made up as a queen size, with a very narrow entry into the shower (we are average size people) and very thin towels like sandpaper. Had to sleep with the doors closed due to mosquitoes. Air conditioning worked OK in our room but others on the tour complained about noise.Staff were pleasant, but under some stress in the dining area from local package deal customers on a room, breakfast and dinner deal. Great pool to cool off in after a days sightseeing.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

Nice-looking at first sight,however... :
- room is very old-looking, poorly equiped (an old TV hardly working, that's all)
- door of the room look like toilets-door, hard to open and close it.
- bad smell in the bathroom
- door of the shower dirty and not closing properly
- but nice sea-view :-)
- 100 kuna oncost for airconditioning
- bed sheets are too small, they don't fit !!!

Common areas of the hotel are clean but old. The swimming pool looks nice, however...:
- it's dirty inside (green Moss on the sides, for sure not cleaned for ages)
- Lots of wasps around
- only 8 sunbaths for the whole hotel, 5 of them being broken !

And there's nothing to do in Lumbarda town... Stay in Hvar instead, far better !

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Hotel Borik is located in the heart of the little village of Lumbarda, only a few steps from the main street and with a view on the marina Lumbarda and the Peljesac peninsula. The hotel’s beautiful building is the former stone summer palace of the Mirosevic family, today with about twenty renovated rooms with air conditioning. The annexe Borik is located behind the hotel and has further 60 renovated rooms with a balcony. If you wish to savour top culinary specialties, you only have to come down towards the pleasant shade of the a la carte restaurant or pizzeria, and in those rare moments of rain you can enjoy your meal in the roofed part of the restaurant. We are particularly proud of our vast lounge bar, where you may freshen yourself with cold drinks sitting on comfortable reed armchairs. Hotel Borik has made available to its guests direct phone lines, SAT TV, wifi in common areas, internet café, exchange bureau and bicycle rent service. You can reach the beautiful beaches by foot. The pebbly beach Tatinje is only 200 m away from the hotel, but if you prefer rocky beaches, we recommend you Bilin zal. The path to the sandy beach Przine will lead you through vineyards and olive groves and you will find the sea in that cove warmer than around the rest of the island. It would be a pity not to visit some of the fabulous sites near Lumbarda, which is the reason why the hotel offers excursions around Korcula, to Mljet, the most densely wooded island in Croatia and the worldwide famous pearl of the Croatian tourism, the town of Dubrovnik. ... more   less
