My partner and I stayed here for New years Eve and were absolutley delighted with the room, service, and all round atmosphere of Kesgrave Hall. We paid £240 for a room including dinner, champagne, and breakfast. Outstanding value, plus we even had a free room upgrade. The staff were all very friendly and catered to our every need.
We are a young couple in our twenties who like to get away to different places and this was by far the coolest and best value for money place we've stayed. However i'd still recommened it to older couples and families.
Thanks Milsoms, hope to stay again soon.

My wife booked us into Kesgrave as a birthday treat (back in Sept) and what a place to stay. We had no intention of going out and about just to have a good evening and stay the night. We pulled up to lovely hotel set in well maintained grounds. We had to wait a little while to get checked in as the couple in front of us wanted to discuss their life story with reception but never mind. We were then shown our room which was very nicely decorated, nice bathroom although if you are going to have a large shower head over the bath it works much better with good pressure unfortunately this one didn't have it. It was a little chilly so we decided to turn the heating on, we waited and waited but nothing, called reception who said they would get the maintenance person to check but while we wait please go to the bar and order a drink on the house, we must have been there for an hour and a half before we had to find out what was going on which we shouldn't have to do but no big deal sitting comfortably with drink in hand, It transpired that the heating on the entire floor wasn't working so they put a portable heater in the room which was more than capable of heating it and as a gesture dinner was on the hotel. Considering the meal was nearly £100 this was an excellent gesture totally unexpected, was thinking maybe a slight reduction or a couple of free drinks but this very good of the hotel. We went down to the bar at about 7 (table was for 8) and it was packed and once we ate you found out why. The food was amazing, seriously good, even if you wasn't eating just relaxing in the hotel it was cool. After dinner we just chilled out in the bar and patio area under the heaters. Good nights sleep was required and thats what we got. Would defintely recommend and stay again.

We booked a Fab Friday package which included a 3 course dinner, overnight stay in a superior room and breakfast.

The hotel feels small and intimate, the decor is quite contemporary and is quirky. The room was the biggest either of us had ever stayed in. The bed was so big and so comfortable!

The food in the restaurant was very tasty and the eggs florentine for breakfast was absolutely delicious. All the ingredients were of excellent quality and very fresh.

The staff were very friendly and the service was very good.

Now for the not so good parts...
I know they are trying to be quirky but at a 4 star hotel it's nice to be waited on, not having to write down your order and then find a member of staff. (Not being pompous just paying for a 4 star service so it's nice to get it).

The carpets need replacing (large holes in the restaurant) and on the landings they are very stained so need cleaning at the very least.

We didn't like the black tiles in the bathroom, they didn't clean up well and it felt very dark and a bit dirty...

The continental breakfast selection was very limited. It's clearly geared for the cooked breakfast option (which was great) but a bit more selection for the non-cooked breakfast guests would have been good.

We were served a bad tomato (rotten) with the main course, this should have been picked up on by the kitchen staff before it was served. The staff were apologetic when it was pointed out but it was clear to see before service...

Overall it was very nice and the furnishings are of high quality but the hotel needs a bit of TLC in terms of a clean and refresh. I'd recommend it, if you get a good rate but at full price, I would recommend other 4 star hotels.

Fabulous hotel, quirky décor and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was great too – very friendly staff and fantastic selection. Grounds are beautiful and hotel is small enough to have that boutiquey feel. There was a slight up at check-out where they’d accidently added another room’s charges to ours, but this was resolved relatively quickly. Would definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Really surprisingly chic and comfortable hotel. External bungalow room was great, lovely heated floor in bathroom, comfy bed, nice food, beautiful interior design, good service.

My nit picking gripes ....It's quite ostentatious with its design aesthetic with design overtaking common sense at times e.g.. room key is designed to be huge (think having to find a way to keep a brick in your purse for a day) and lovely gravel paths everywhere look great but are terrible for lugging your suitcase around on.

But these are really tiny issues compared to how very comfortable and chic the place is. This is a huge cut above your typical little england business hotel and doesn't suffer from the usual 'tired or grotty' issues at all.

Highly recommend to others... (just sort out the daft keys)

Room Tip: I had an external bungalow and it was fantastic

We found Kesgrave Hall by accident, looking for a hotel in Lavenham, what a great mistake.
We were shown to probably the biggest room we'd ever stayed in (room no.1), we'd booked a deluxe Suffolk Break weekend which included a full choice 3 course dinner on Friday or Saturday, with breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning.
We'd booked the afternoon tea as it was my wife's birthday, I immediately upgraded this to a champagne tea, it was superb, delightfully served by a very polite and friendly waitress, who advised us we could have more if we wanted. We saved ourselves for dinner that night and was glad we did, the dinner was a real treat, a quirky way of ordering whereby you take your own order to the staff , but its completely nu rushed.
The atmosphere was great, beautiful decor, friendly, helpful and efficient staff, alright there was a function on the Friday, but its the Christmas period, and it didn't bother us, we were to starstruck by the whole experience.
We're certainly going again and want to try the others in the group.
