“Can't moan for the money”

Busy family pub, customer service nor the food always 100% however it's the same as any other hungry horse that I have been too. Great value and easy for a quick pit stop.

“Nice pub but a few niggles ”
Reviewed July 7, 2014 via mobile

Came here with my husband and 2 year old daughter for a quick lunch. Fairly busy but plenty of tables although these were very sticky! Hubby ordered steak which was lovely and cooked perfectly. Children's meal was big portion and sweetcorn served with a little portion of butter which I thought was a nice touch! However my meal was quite disappointing I opted for a light phili and roasted veg wrap but the the red onions and peppers were raw so very over powering and not that nice to eat really. Ordered cheesy chips which were quite hard! It's a nice place but the consistency regarding the food isn't great which is a shame. The puddings were lovely though which made up for it

“Awful ”
Reviewed July 3, 2014 via mobile

Food arrived and meals weren't correct and cold. Drinks were not what we ordered. Fried food was over fried and tasted awful. Kids meals were boring and dry! Staff not very welcoming.
Poor quality and will never return.

“Never returning.”
Reviewed June 18, 2014 via mobile

Ordered two starters. Which arrived in good time. The new York chicken batons which were supposed to be filled with chicken, cheese, bacon and bbq sauce. Sounded great but we're the opposite. No bacon could be found and they were full of red pepper which was not listed on the menu as an ingredient. The sour cream dip certainly looked sour. To the point it looked off. With a curdled liquid sitting on top of the dip. When we spoke to our waitress. She replaced the dip after saying she was not sure if it should be like that. We told her about the batons and she was going to speak to her superior. After not hearing anything I spoke to another waitress to be told exactly the same. But yet again nobody came back to us. Our main meals were mixed grills with overcooked chips and undercooked onion rings. Meal was very bland with very little taste. Steak was chewy. Only recommendation I would make is to stay well clear.

“Cheap. Busy.”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

Not my cup of tea, but the crown is ideal if you are on a budget.
I have eaten their maybe 50times over the last 5 years.
It is very very cheap but sometimes the standards slip. Unfortunately this is usually during quiet times when you wouldn't expect it.
We have had quite a few steaks that are too tough, things still frozen in the middle and the portions and presentation are poor. The staff have been very nice, but totally undertrained.
The price is the only thing going for it. Don't bother at peak times as you'll be waiting ages for a table and an hour for food.
