Great food, wonderful service, typical Cretan hospitality. George and Maria run a wonderful restuarant in Sivas, Crete, where you are looked after by great staff, especially Stefanos, who will welcome you and look after you for the evening, or in our case, a few evenings. We decided that this merited our last night visit for our final holiday meal in Crete. We were not disappointed. Try the Pork Sovlaki, or the wonderful, if very large portions of Biftekii! In fact everything we tried there was excellent. Alaways finished off with free melon and some home made cake and the inevitable home make Raki (or 3/4 Rakis). Stefanos will always join you in a toast (Yammas!) when drinking the Raki. I totally recommend this place. Even when not eating there but just passing, I was always invited in to join either Stefanos, or George or Maria for a Raki. Excellent value for money. Average price for full meals for 4 people, wine and soft drinks around €40 !
If you are anywhere near Sivas, even if you are staying in Matala or Pitsidia, you should make the effort to eat there.
