The purpose of this review is twofold. It’s a review and a thank you to the owners, Hetty and Alan. We had a wonderful time in cortijo puerto el peral. The hotel is a small country hotel (in a rural area) just under 40 minutes away from malaga. There is a big pool where you can swim laps or just lay in the sun or shade. The entire farmhouse is tastefully yet comfortably decorated. We were a group of 4 adults and two young children. Hetty and Alan have accomodated all our wishes (and beyond). We are extremely happy with our choice to stay in Cortijo Puerto El Peral. Rooms and beds were comfortable. Great value and great hospitality. Highly recommended.

Thank you all so much for this wonderful review. Really, it was a joy having you here and we loved the children. We hope to see you again sometimes, although that seems a bit farfetched all the way from Jakarta! Have a good flight back! Was nice to have met you!!

This hotel has ambiance, wonderful views, delightful hosts, all in all, a terrific stay. Wd recommend this as a definite choice to stay if you want peace and tranquility. The TORCAL mountains a must go see, followed by the lakes. The kings walk, tho exhausting, we walked history and cold beer at the old railway station shouldn’t be missed

An absolute jewel! A beautiful and luxurious building with a large courtyard and stunning panoramic views across the Andalucian hills to match. Everywhere is elegantly furnished and decorated, the bedrooms are large and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms have double sinks and include underfloor heating. The home-cooked food is amazing (and healthy), and the service is always top class and friendly. The owners, Allan and Hette, are wonderful hosts who add to making any stay a relaxed and hugely enjoyable experience. Cannot recommend it highly enough. We shall be returning next year!

Once again thank you very much for your fantastic review, it is so important to hear that our hard work in making our small hotel a success is appreciated.
We hope very much that we will see you, and next time both of you, in our hotel in the not too distant future.

Our very best regards

Beautiful building tucked into the hillside. Stunning views from our room, and whilst enjoying tasty breakfast on the patio.
Hette and Allan, were wonderful hosts, attentive and always eager to help with any problems.
Our room was spacious and clean, the bathroom had shower and bath, with double sink.
Three days of quiet and peace, just the birds and the rustle of lovely plants disturbed us.
Breakfast was delicious, Allan's scrambled eggs need to be experienced! Just creamy sensation

This is a beautiful newly built Cortijo in one of the most beautiful spots I have ever seen. Hetty and Alan, the owners are very hospitable and friendly and make you feel part of the family. I did, however, have a couple of issues which made this a less than perfect holiday. We went early in the season and were very lucky with the weather. However, it was very cold in the Cortijo. At night, I got into bed in my dressing gown whilst the room warmed up with the heater. At breakfast, and in the evenings, there were rather smelly calor gas fires, the fires in the grates not lit. We also had to come to an agreement about when the water should be heated, Alan being very amenable in this respect. However, to me, this makes it more of a bed and breakfast than a 4 star hotel. That is the difficulty I had with this place. On the final evening, we decided to have dinner in the hotel. Alan told us he would cook fish - there is no menu. Hetty asked if we would eat early as she wanted to watch a Dutch TV talent show. That was fine, although, again, more B&B than 4*Hotel. We rushed through a one course meal, had a glass of wine and a glass of Prosecco with the staff. This was very friendly and relaxed, like being at home, with home cooking, not 4*hotel standard. However, we were charged €50 for this meal. 4*Hotel prices. In my view, when you compare that to the three course meals we had in the local restaurants, all much cheaper, delicious and with choices, it feels a bit of a rip off. I felt that the very beguiling beauty of the place, hides a very average experience. The pool was not useable, although the weather was to blame for that. The area has lots to do and see and is spectacular. This very beauty makes for tricky evenings. The roads are winding mountain roads, and my husband felt he could not have a drink with our evening meal because of driving back afterwards. This is usually one of the pleasures of being on holiday. This is not the hotel's fault, but it does place extra importance on being able to have a relaxing, meal, with choices of starters, mains and pudding with a choice of wines, at the hotel. The breakfasts were also rather uninspiring when compared to other 4*Hotels across the world, again with limited choice and no menu. Altogether, whilst I liked Hetty and Alan enormously, and the place is very beautiful, it did not feel like value for money or that the guest comes first.

We are totally surprised, actually flabbergasted.
After reading Mark's (her husband) review on Booking, it seems like two different people were here on holidays, not husband and wife at the same time!
And then, all the compliments we heard all week, and how definitely "we come back next year" several times! Obviously they have two different opinions and perhaps Mark will come back on his own .LOL..
Dinner in a Venta with paper table cloths and simple meals, obviously appeals more to Sarah than our other guests.
Unwarranted reviews like these are purely written to damage small hotels like ours. We work very hard to please everyone, but as one can see from all the excellent reviews we get that this is an exception.
I can go into every sentence and complaint ( of which most are highly exaggerated or not true but we do not feel like we need to defend ourselves.

By the way "Sarah LOVED" watching the show with us!!!

THANK YOU SARAH....
