The owner greeted us and helped us with our luggage. He provided us with excellent service for our whole stay. We had a loose motorbike chain (he called a garage, drew a map and got us there for them to fix which was excellent because we don't speak Spanish and wouldn't have been able to do it without him). When we wanted to do some wine tours he called some places and booked us in and made sure they stayed open for us. Recommended some great restaurants which were a hit. We also ate at the hotels restaurant which was amazing (which is usually not the case). Really impressed with everything about this hotel. would recommend it to anyone! Rooms were large and spacious

This a great hotel in the cute town of La Guardia. Although owner, Javier , does not speak English we communicated very well. He is so kind and is eager to help. The rooms and bathrooms are gorgeous (We stayed in Dona Blanco) and it is walking distance to the small town, parking also very clsoe by. We found this to be a great location to drive to the nearby wineries and town Logrono. We did not eat dinner here but did eat the breakfast. I would suggest eating breakfast in the town so you can experience different things. We would definitely come back. !

A night in a castle should leave you feeling elevated. A night in the el Castillo El Collado will do just that. The tower view is breathtaking. The rooms are large and regally furnished. The walled town transports the visitor to the middle ages. Javier is an extraordinary host. His positive and elegant Spanish hospitality is heartwarming. His food preparation and wine selection are incomparable. Don't miss out you a lifetime experience.

The hotel is so enchanting and the rooms so comfortable, beautiful and enjoyable that the wonders of the wineries and the medieval town of Laguardia seem almost secondary. We stayed in the turret room, with views all around of the autumnal vineyards all around us, and no neighbors looking in. The bathroom was amazing, with a bath almost in the room, as well as a very decent shower. And the decor was imaginative, without being showy. A delight. Our only mistake was to not eat dinner in the hotel until the last night, because it was so exquisite, that we would definitely have repeated otherwise, although Laguardia has great food and drink everywhere. The service was slow and unobtrusive. We were allowed to take three hours to eat, although the efficiency of both Javier, the owner, and the waiter assisting him was outstanding. Even the bread was a gustatory experience, crusty on the outside and like velvet inside. And the meal could not have been bettered. It was expensive, but I have rarely had such good value for money. We will definitely return.

This is a mini-castle hotel in an ancient hill-town convenient for visiting the wineries of La Rioja. We had a wonderful stay here, just one night, but maybe the best stay on our whole trip. Javier and his staff were really welcoming to us. We are grateful to Javier for helping us immensely in dealing with our car rental company about a flat tire and eventually getting a replacement car. What could have been a disaster turned out to be a pleasant adventure. Thank you Javier! Be sure to dine here -- the food is superb.
