“Modern Winery .. . .the buidling is worth the pic/drive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013

This is located in the beautiful city of Laguardia. . .the building is modern and the new trend in wineries. . .build a great building but I feel more people visit because of the architecture than because of the wine!
The tour is typical of the region (long, and you need to make a reservation before-hand and includes a tasting at end)

Pros: Beautiful building
Cons: Need to visit more traditional winery as this one is more about amazing architecture than great long tradition of wine making (for both architectural gem and great wine go to Riscal)

“Fabulous building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2013

Designed by Calatrava, the building looks fabulous close-up and from a distance -- we stayed in the nearby hill-town of Laguardia which has a great view of the winery. The tour was nice, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, and the tour included a tasting at the end. Be sure to book on-line in advance.

We also recommend seeing another, more traditional winery such as the ones in Laguardia, just to get a different perspective on winemaking.

“Amazing architecture and friendly guide”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2013

A building you cannot miss from far, it is as impressive from the outside as the inside. We had a great tour and our guide showed lots of passion for the company, their philosophy and its wines. The tasting contained two red wines with small bites. A good explanation was given of how you should taste the wines.

“Well done corporate tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 25, 2013

Pros
Amazing building
Polished tour with good information

Cons
Average wine
Long tour 75 minutes
Only two tastes
--the last two may be normal for area

If you like Napa you will like this. 5/5 because it achieves its goal. Drive by for pics if nothing else.

“Go for the architecture, not the wine”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

Fabulous looking building and very 'perfect' looking inside, designed around the Egyptian pyramids. Informative tour of the wine making process. We asked our hotel to book us in, having read other reviews. Two couples on our tour hadn't apparently booked (or booking not received) and we observed they were treated in a slightly condescending manner, but were able to join the group after being made to feel a bit bad. There was no pressure to purchase wine at the end of the tour and it was very expensive so we didn't. We later saw the same wines sold in Laguardia town for much cheaper.
