“Lovely Break”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

We stayed for two nights in the family room (number one). The room was spacious and had everything we needed and more, my children were quick to find the lovely muffins. There was a generous hospitality tray and fluffy towels. Everything was totally spotless (and lovely decor) and it would be hard to fault it in anyway. We would recommend this B&B and will return when we next visit the Forest of Dean. The breakfast was delicious and Andy and Christine were warm, friendly and very helpful.

I stayed here with my youngest son for a quick weekend in December 2013. We stayed in 'the lodge' an annexed building across the courtyard from the main house. Christine was very helpful and keen to ensure we had what we needed. Breakfast was perfect even catering for Ben's vegetarian needs.
Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for two nights in November during a weekend away in the Wye Valley. Christine and Andy are great hosts and we had a very warm welcome. The place is absolutely spotless and the Lodge where we stayed was lovely - nice bed linen and home made muffins in the room. The breakfast was very good and just what we needed before a day of walking or cycling.

The Lodge is dog friendly too so a great place to stay if you want to take yours. I had slightly expected to find evidence of previous doggy visitors, but not a trace of them - Christine and Andy must be the most thorough cleaners in the world!

Would highly recommend. The Jovial Colliers pub is a good place for an evening meal too.

Unfortunately we'd only booked one night at Ferndale House, but we would go back again. We had a family room which was large and fully equipped, with a welcoming cake and the added soothing sounds of a stream, which runs alongside the property. The breakfast was first class with a wide variety of hot and cold foods. Andy and Christine made us very welcome and we would have no problems recommending the accommodation to anyone visiting the area

We couldn't find fault with this lovely bed and breakfast stay, from the warm welcome we received on arrival to the plentiful tasty breakfast before we left the following morning! The rooms were spotless and had everything you needed (Including a nice touch of home made muffins!) and it was quiet! The hosts were lovely and considering they are fairly new to the business, have created a wonderful little haven in a beautiful part of the country. We would love to go back and stay longer so that we can explore the area in more detail! Many thanks....highly recommended!

Have just had a relaxing and refreshing mid-week break at Ferndale House. Warm and cosy in the Lodge with a very comfy bed. Surrounded by the lovely Forest of Dean in full Autumn colours in the sunshine. A hearty breakfast to start the day and a chat with the local friendly Robin. Shall have to go back in the Spring to continue search for sightings of wild boar.
