This Chinese restaurant had been open less than three months when we stumbled on it. Tucked behind the Forge Hammer pub in Lower Lydbrook, you'd be lucky to see its banner. On an 8 day walking holiday, we had eaten in venues of various value/quality from prestigious bistros to inns. What stood out about Hin's was the quality, amount and clean cooking of the food. For example, there were eleven large king prawns (with ginger and spring onions) in a dish one third of the cost of a prawn dish we later ate in an Indian restaurant in Ross-on-Rye which contained only 3 prawns! The steamed broccoli was al dente and of a good colour. It's difficult to put your finger on it but whereas it is sometimes said that all Chinese food/dishes tase the same/have the same gloop on them - these dishes were very distinctive and somehow clean. We really appreciated the food.
