We held our wedding reception at the Twelve in December. From the moment we arrived on Thurs evening to our departure on Sunday morning we and our guests were treated like VIPs. The customer service is second to none at the Twelve, it is 5 star service. Every member of staff from the manager, to the front desk, the bar staff, function waiting and bar staff, night porters and so on went above and beyond. I have to mention in particular Fergus (Manager), Fiona (reservations manager), Catherine (events manager), the lady on the front desk whose name I have forgotten (sorry) and the manager of the bar downstairs again whose name I have forgotten but is tall with grey hair and really looked after us at breakfast especially when I kept changing tables to chat to different people and kept the children entertained with colouring pictures which he then displays on the wall-lovey touch. We ate in the bar on the Thurs eve, had our wedding Friday and had dinner in West for a smaller group on Sat eve and every meal was superb. The wedding meal was just amazing and everyone was wowed by it. I had friends asking for the soup recipe ( bacon and parsnip) and everyone agreed the steak was cooked to perfection. But my favourite had to be dessert, we chose a trio of warm apple crumble, lemon tart and chocolate mousse and all I can say is wow. I generally don´t eat desserts and I especially find the trio of desserts at most weddings very bland (almost like they come out of a box rather than are homemade) but these were amazing-the crumble was hot, the tart zesty and the mousse rich, just perfect.
On the Sat evening we dined in West and they made up menus with our names and we had christmas crakers-it´s all these touches which really make you feel looked after as a guest.
The function room was a perfect size for our party of 68 (and a few more in the evening) and the dancefloor is a perfect size. The dancefloor is small and it was one of the things we were most concerned about when booking the hotel. Fergus assured us it would be a perfect size and he was right.
Another thing I must mention is our wedding cake which Dalma the baker in the Twelve made for us. It was something I didn´t put much thought into to be honest and I was surprised then by how much I loved it and how it is now one of my favourite things. Dalma made two tiers and my mother in law made a third tier which Dalma then iced and again it is touches ike this which show how the hotel goes that extra mile. Oh and it was delicious too!
The rooms at the Twelve are something else which sets it apart, very funky with truffles, choc dipped strawberries, flapjack and a wecome card on arrival-lovely touch. Ipod docking stations in each room, mood lighting in the bathrooms and bathrobes and slippers to use during your stay not to mention the fab voya products in the bathrooms. The suites are fab with bars and couches and plasma tvs and I got ready in one of the suites which was great as we had loads of room for everyone to get hair and make up done and for people coming and going. We stayed in Suite X11 on the night of our wedding and the night after and all I can say is wow. Again lovely touches like rose petals on the bed.
The one thing which really struck me about the hotel is how well it caters for everyone from couples to families to children to older guests. My husbands parents want to return during the summer and we have had several couples tell us they intend to return for a break away.
I really could go on and on but will just end by saying that if you are looking for somewhere to host a smaller wedding you will not regret having it at the Twelve. I am just looking for an excuse to go back now!!!

I recently stayed in the hotel with a group of colleagues and business associated. From the warm welcome to the beautifully designed rooms with the sweeties and fruit on arrival everything was fantastic. The staff were excellent and overall the hotel lives up to its reputation. Looking forward to my return visit!

This hotel was underwhelming location wise would stay further into Connemara in future. Breakfast was good though.

We recently stayed at the twelve for 2 nights and we loved it. Staff are well trained, very friendly, professional without being intrusive. We had a gorgeous room with voya products in the bathroom and proper coffee in the sitting room area!.

We ate in the main restaurant West on both nights and the food & service was excellent especially Mathieu who accommodated us with a booth on the second night. There is a great vibe about this hotel, only about 10 mins drive from Galway and has a lovely bakery attached to the hotel where you can buy products to take home if you wish.

Would highly receommend and would definately go back.

We stayed at the Twelve Hotel recently and I have to say this was one of the best if not the best hotel experiences ever. From the moment we arrived you could get the genuine friendly vibes from the staff, a simple smile or exchange of hello's means so much.
We were there for a special occasion and this had not gone unnoticed at the time of booking, we were upgraded to a luxury suite which is the last word in luxury and sofistication, beautiful furnishings, plasma tv's a wet bar with fully stocked fridge, real coffee and coffee maker, a beautiful welcome card and a plate of yummy chocs, dipped strawberries and shortcake. The bed was soooo comfy. We ordered room service which arrived promptly and the presentation was WOW! Lovely sandwiches for grown ups and chips etc... We had a great nights sleep and woke up to snow the next morning which was lovely, We had breakfast downstairs which was delicious, we had a choice of juices, cereals, pastries, scones etc... but breakfast was cooked fresh to order, i had eggs benedict and i have to say they were the best poached eggs i have ever been served, they were perfect. My other half opted for the farmers omlette which smelt divine and was very substantial. We then spent the day walking in salthill and shopping in Galway. We also visited the christmas market which is very nice and makes a change. Its well worth a visit.
We returned in the evening and had some drinks in the bar beside a blazing fire. The bar was busy with locals and residents popping in and out.
The highlight of the evening was our dinner in the West it was excellent. An extensive menu of fresh and locally sourced ingredients we were spoilt for choice. Their wine list is very good too. We were given a glass of champagne on arrival at the restaurant which went down a treat. This was the best meal I have had in a hotel restaurant. It was simply superb, from the presentation to the taste to the service. Well done to all involved.
Our stay was perfect, the staff are well trained and very professional but not in an arrogant or unfriendly manner.
We had a lovely stay and we look forward to returning soon.

Every member of the staff at the Twelve Hotel did everything possible to make our 5 night stay the most amazing vacation.
We are all experienced travelers, and can say that we have never stayed anywhere that every member of staff- from front desk, to restaurant and night manager - did everything they possible could to make us not only comfortable, but to exceed any of our expectations for customer service.
It was apparent that all staff are extremely well trained in "going the extra mile" . We had travelled from the United states- they even managed to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day, and to stream an college American football game for us right into the small hours.

WE WILL BE BACK!
