Booked the Twelve as a surprise for the O/H and was hoping it would live up to the reviews it has received. I really should not have worried. From the moment you step out of the lift from the carpark you are treated as if you are the most important person in the Hotel. Check in was a breeze and stress free,no one demanding a Credit Card before you've even mentioned your name like a lot of other Hotels.
Had a meal that night in 'West' the Hotels restaurant ,food was gorgeous ,wine list fantastic and service top notch. Had lunch in the 'PINS' bar on the second day and the food was also delicious .
We stayed in a Luxury Suite which was clean and modern with a King sized bed, well worth the extra few bob.
But the real reason the Twelve stands out from other Hotels that it competes with is the staff. Every member of staff that we interacted with was really friendly and literally could not do enough for us, The management must be of exceptional quality to be able to keep every member of staff so motivated and customer focused.
We will be back and soon i hope

Its not too often that you find two hotels that tick all your boxes, But the 12 in Bearna, Co. Galway is the second hotel that does exactly that for me. ( the first was The Hotel Doolin). From the moment you arrive until you don't want to leave everyone tries their best to make your stay a very happy one. The receptionist, the porter, the bar staff, the lounge boys and girls, housekeeping, the Mater D, the silver haired fox of a breakfast room manager in his soft top just cannot do enough for you. They take the time to talk to you, but if you prefer they leave you alone. The rooms were top class, the food was excellent and you are made to feel special, and if you want to add a day to your stay (even at the very last minute) a special rate can be found to entice you. Yes the views are not the best in Ireland but on a sunny day a 2 minute walk gives that to you. Across Galway Bay to the Burren in Co. Clare, breathtaking. The Twelve is small, intimate, friendly, lively, homely and great value. No it does'nt have a pool or a gym but who needs all that when you have when you have everything else. Keep up the good work guys I will definitely be back for more and more and more....

Room Tip: ask for a room at the back, some on on the street from but traffic stops at around 10pm and does'...

We had a good-sized clean room and a comfortable bed. A plus for us was the true 'block-out' curtains which we rarely come across these days. The staff were friendly and helpful and there is plenty of car parking. There was a notice stating that there would be traditional Irish music being played at night. We assumed this was advice that it might be noisy, but we heard nothing in our room. There is a supermarket and a few restaurants and take away places within walking distance. There is an on-site bistro and a restaurant. We had dinner in the bistro. The prices were really good but the menu was a bit limited. The décor of the hotel is unique and made us think of flower power, flared pants and kaftans (not that anybody was wearing them). As other reviewers have mentioned, you need to keep in mind that this hotel is about 10 km outside of Galway. We would come back again.

Everything about this hotel, from the friendly and efficient check in, the great food and the superb room to the sad farewell the next morning says come back again. This was our second trip to the Twelve and although we were only stopping for one night there were so many little touches that made us feel like valued customers.

The room we stayed in first time was great but this time we were upgraded to a suite, which was lovely. The staff were, as before, friendly and helpful.

Galway is only a short distance away (avoid the rush hour) and there is plenty of great scenery in every direction. We will definitely be back again, hopefully for a longer stay.

ID: We are a group of three young professionals traveling from the states. This was our first trip to Ireland.

Strengths: Beautiful boutique hotel ornamented with multiple floor mirrors and boutique style furniture. The hotel feels personable and cozy. The attendant at the front desk, Viktoria, was incredibly pleasant and helpful. She arranged dinner reservations for us and was very professional. Our room was very spacious. Great "mood" lighting in the bathroom. Beds were comfortable. Lots of attention to small detail including a personalized card and baked goods waiting in the room. Three bath robes in the closet. Bar was awesome. A good mixture of couches to lounge adjacent to the restaurant. Service and quality of drinks were great. It was a very comfortable environment to lounge. A full hot breakfast is included with the room (to give you an idea, I didn't believe it when they said it was included because it was so great).

Weaknesses: For those wanting to stay in Galway, this hotel is right outside Galway, so ~ 10 min drive to downtown Galway (but next to the beach in a great location to get away). There were a couple things here and there that needed replacement (like the sink spraying or the hallways having a slight odor), but not enough to make a fuss.

Overall: This is a modern, chic boutique hotel for people looking for luxury in a quiet area that is a close drive to Galway. Their attention to detail and service added the little touches that made you feel special. I never got the impression that they were trying to cut corners, and the staff was very personable and accommodating. The rooms are great. Breakfast is great. I will be returning in the future. I highly recommend!
Note- food at the hotel was excellent. We ate dinner at a local restaurant call OGrady's down the road. They serve seafood and it was delicious! Slightly expensive and requires reservations, but highly recommended.

A great place to stay when visiting Galway. We stayed here for 2 nights when touring Ireland, a great friendly hotel with a lovely bar a great food. Room was very comfortable, if we go back to Galway, The Twelve will be the hotel where we will stay. Ps, the hotel cat is adorable!
