Food here is good, if a little over-priced. There is a strong smell of rotten seaweed when the tide is out and the weather is dry. I didnt mind it, but others did. Far more offensive for me was the terrible service here. A sour matriarchal figure, seemingly put out by our presence, ruined the experience for us, a feeling that was shared by the table adjacent to us.

A return visit, proved once again to be a super night out. We started with beetroot cured salmon gravalax and the clam and squid linguini followed by seared seabass with squid bolognise (very different) and panfried fillet of cod lightly curried lentils and not so sure what puree was but it was delicious. We love this little restaurant and look forward to a chance to come back again...any excuse to get to the West.

We had stopped by this place in the afternoon for disrections to a B&B and the waittress was very helpful. Used her cell to try to help us. We returned for dinner without reservations although we were told it was the most popular restaurant in area and hard to get a seat. We were quickly seated upstairs - and given it was another rainy night we were not disappoited that we did not have a veiw of the sunset. Our wait staff seemed to change early in our encounter but both were very helpful in answering questions about preparation (we avoid creamy additions to sauces and soups). Our salad and appetizer came out quickly but then we noticed that every nearby table - at least 4/5 of them - had their entrees before the waittress even came to apologize. She said our dinners would be out soon. When soon turned into ann even longer delay, we inquired again and she said the same. We decided to leave and pay for our drinks and appetizers. Then they said our dinners were on their way but, really, we had enough. After such a long delay, you would think that some offer of a roudn of drinks or something was in order. The salad I had was excellent and I am sure the dinners would have been good. We went down the street to Donnelly's and ordered the same meal - for half the price since it was on their special order that night.
