“Sunday Lunch”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

I visited the Grapes Hotel for Sunday Lunch 3 times and twice for evening meals. Each time the food has been good. I dined in both the Vine Restaurant and the bar with friends, family or as a couple and enjoyed each occasion.

Visited at weekend for a meal. The customer service was very good but the food was exceptionally disappointing and certainly did not represent value for money. The seafood platter was seriously adrift. The hotel food used to be very good but on this occasion it was certainly not - disappointing indeed.

We all so found the local people very friendly.

We've now stayed here twice with a group of friend's to play music. The people are friendly and make you feel welcome.
Our room was nice, had hot drink making facilities and the bed was comfortable.
All the meals we had were very nice and the service was always with a smile.
Thank you so much for a very pleasant stay and every member of our group was looking forward to staying again.

8 of us had a great meal here. The staff were friendly and helpful and dealt with our high spirits well. The menu had plenty of choice and the meal was lovely. It tasted very good and there was plenty of it; a great selection of vegetables.

We arranged a commemorative event at the hotel. Brilliant food and hard working staff. Everyone at the event really enjoyed the evening. Chef Mark produced a fantastic meal for 50 people and Heather, Shelly and Sara really worked hard to make sure everyone had what they needed. The landlords Peter and Gail were great to work with and nothing was too much trouble.

Stayed two nights earlier in the month on a voucher deal. The hotel is well situated in a square with plenty of front of house free parking.Although our room was "small" it offered a good sized en-suite bathroom with power shower, comfortable bed and very good central heating. The restaurant was well furnished, very pleasant to eat-in, with plenty of choice in all courses. Both myself and wife enjoyed the food, although (as senior citizens) were not always able to complete the copious portions offered. We found the price of food and particularly drinks very competitive .We were also very impressed with the warm welcome we received from management, staff and the locals .Service was with a smile and everyone connected with the hotel appeared happy and cheerful,a rare event these days.We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for the above reasons,in particular its good value,
