Stayed in the villa this time with my family (3 kids).

Service is very professional and friendly but not as giddy/overjoyed as the service in their sister resort, Momo.

Food was yummy with okay servings and not that expensive (less than Boracay restaurant prices). It was more expensive to eat in the resort than the Alona beach restaurants by around P50-P100/meal but at least you're assured of the quality and speed of service.

There were ample choices in the breakfast buffet. The double espressos I ordered for room service and resto were free!

Alona beach is beautiful in January. The sea is very clear and calm.

Being in the midst of a garden, there were lots of mosquitoes and there would be earthworms in the bathroom and bedroom but this is okay. There was complementary citronella lotion and citronella warmer that kept the insects at bay.

Some parts needed better maintenance (unravelling seats, old towels) but they're minor.

Oh! There were minor touches: my kids got a personalized card and milk/cookies the first night and we got a take home gift before boarding the van. The manager also introduced herself to us on our first breakfast and checked up on us right before leaving.

Will be back next year.

Dear AppleManila,
Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at Amorita. We hope that you were able to try the selection at our Saturday Grill Buffet during your stay. Did you pair your espresso with one of our signature pastries or cookies? It's unfortunate that you encountered mosquitoes and other insects, but we hope that the insect repellant was helpful. It would be wonderful to have you and your family stay with us next year. Please let us know if you need any assistance with your booking.

Sincerely,
Carissa

I really had a good time staying at Amorita Resort and would wish for their continued success in their business, so that I could continue on visiting and recommending it to friends.

We stayed in the deluxe rooms and got one of the 3D/2N packages. You don't really get a view of the ocean, just the garden and a pathway to the villas, but that didn't bother us as the infinity pool that overlooks the ocean and is in front of their restaurant (Saffron Restaurant) is just a short walk away. The rooms are really good and spacious.

The property sits in a good cliff location and you will get a great view of the sunset. So be sure to be at the pool or get a table at the edge of the cliff and order a drink while enjoying a great show put together by nature!

If you are going to eat at their restaurant, the Prime Burger and chicken inasal are highly recommendable. Aglio olio and carbonaras are just all right, you can skip it if you are not craving for pasta. If your package comes with high tea set, try not to miss it! Light and nice.

The service was attentive and impeccable most of the time. I am not sure if they do it all for all the guests, but as we were leaving in the resort van, the staff at the reception counter lined up and waved goodbye... In sync! :-P Nice service touch.

On booking with them for out-of-resort activities like snorkeling and land tours, it will be much expensive (as expected) than those that you can hire outside. It's probably 30 to 40% more. But somehow, it can be justified if you want clear pricing and no "surprise" markups during payments, as practiced by some drivers and operators not associated with the resort. If you can tolerate that, walk along Alona Beach and there will be land and water based tour services. You don't have to pre-book for these activities before you arrive in Amorita/Bohol, you can make the arrangements when you reach there (at least when it's not super peak season).

If you are particular about using rented snorkels and equipment, I think it's better to rent it from the dive shop at Amorita as I find it to be better quality. Slightly more expensive of course, they charged about 215 pesos for the mask and snorkels, the boat man might charge you 150 pesos.

I would have given Amorita a 5 rating, but I think there are areas to be improved on still. I didn't find the billing to be smooth. It wasn't itemized properly. Calculations were handwritten and I had to point out an item that shouldn't be there. It will also be great if you can pay by PayPal or some online payment system for their booking.

Overall, I would really like to go back when their new wing is open, if I remember it correctly it will be 60 rooms (?). But I do hope that it will retain its intimate charm and hopefully more attentive staff added and expansion of common facilities when surge of guests arrive due to new building.

They have great service, nice room and wonderful staff. It is right on the beach and they are building a new bigger pool and extra rooms. Now the breakfast is lack of choice so I hope they will imporve it after the new rooms are completed in Aug. I will go back again.

Amorita was indeed a great choice for us to hold our wedding reception party. Not only did we get a spectacular scenery to complete our dream destination wedding. But they even exceeded our expectations. From the inquiry stage, start of our wedding plans up to the wedding day itself everyone in the resort was very supportive. The place was truly magical, the food was delicious and delectable, the staffs were very hospitable and approachable. There is no other perfect venue for our Dream Wedding than AMORITA. Proudly Pinoy and Simply the Best. BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE!!!

Due to ferry cancellations we only managed 2 nights & 1 day of 3 booked but it was enjoyable. Our room was nice & large but ready for a make over, there was no view from our deluxe room and no outdoor seating, just a clothes dryer. Staff were very pleasant and breakfast was fine but very much catering towards Asian cuisine. Pool is in a lovely setting overlooking Alona beach & there are a few sun beds. Although it was pretty quiet early Jan, there were still quite a lot of kids here, so it is a proper family resort & not a couples hotel.

Dear Taylortowers,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Amorita. It's unfortunate that you were not able to stay as long as you intended. When a couple stays at the resort, we usually recommend availing of our Lovers' Getaway Package and booking a villa. The villa's setup is definitely more intimate and private. On your next visit to the Philippines, we hope that you and your companion will consider staying with us again.

Sincerely,
Carissa
