“Surprisingly nice retreat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014 via mobile

Came here last July for a long weekend. Although a two star hotel we were both surprised how nice it was. We initially booked bed and breakfast but decided to upgrade to all inclusive. There are two pools, the pool nearer the bar is more lively. The bar at the back of the pool was very quiet and is a great sun trap. We came a few days before summer holidays so it was generally quiet.

Food was really nice and there was a decent choice. All three meals are buffet style. Beer and wine is self service in the restaurant.

Rooms are fairly basic but are clean and option of purchasing air con.

The beach can be accessed by a slightly steep decent outside the front entrance. The beach is really nice and is very calm. A sun lounger will set you back €10. There are a few restaurants and bars on the beach.

A regular bus service stops right outside the hotel which takes around an hour to SA. The cost is around €4 one way. The bus drops you off at the central bus station which is a short walk to the main action. The last bus at night leaves the hotel around 12.20 and a return bus picks up around 5am. A taxi one way will cost around €20.

For those not wanting to stay in SA this offers the best of both worlds, close enough to go and quiet in the day.

Just returned from a short break with my husband and found this hotel to be great value for money. We only went for 4 nights so we wanted a nice quiet relaxing break which is exactly what we got. The hotel does need a little updating but all in all can not find fault with our stay. The food was amazing, as was the drinks. The entertainment staff were amazing and there was evening entertainment every night. We would highly recommend this hotel if you want a nice relaxing break. There are a couple of shops and there are a couple of beach bars located a few minutes walk away but not much else. The bus stop is directly outside the hotel and for a couple of euro you can travel to San Antonio which is about 15 mins away. The hotel was well worth the money. My only tip is not to reserve a taxi online just get one from the airport it cost us a 1/3 of what we were quoted.

just returned from a week all inclusive with my girlfriend and i want to go back so bad ! the hotel is in a brilliant position just a 2 minute walk down some stairs to the gorgeous white sand and crystal waters , the stairs are quite steep but it is deffinatly worth it ! there is some lovely private bays if you walk along the cliffs on the right hand side !!! the hotel itself has 3 swimming pools , 1 really shallow circular one which is round the back then a nice size main pool with a smallish kids pool next to it , most of the hotel staff are ok some can come accross a bit arrogant but you learn to ignore it and enjoy the sun ;) the entertainment team are brilliant always laughing and joking and getting people up to do games in the day , the night entertainment is good but there is not a show everynight but we didnt stay at the hotel every night we went out and about , san antonio is a good place to go for shopping and watersports just a 15-20 minute bus ride , "the lucky lucky men" are everywhere but just learn to tell them your not intrested and theyl soon go away lol . the food is good but very repetitive ,, all on all if your not looking to go ibiza for the partying but instead wanting to relax and enjoy the Caribbean like sand and sea's then this is the perfect holiday.... would deffinatly return!!!!!

Room Tip: ask for a sea view , top floor , they have best views and get the sun really good on the balcony at...

First for the plus points:
- hotel has a lovely pool
- quite nice rooms. Basic but adequate for a short stay
- great views (if you get the right room)
- only 5-10 mins from lots of great little beaches
- staff seem friendly
- only 10 mins away from San Antonio but very very quiet

The negative points:
- for a hotel in a secluded area, you do need a hire car for your stay. Unfortunately the parking spaces, for such a large hotel, are taken up very quickly making it hard to park!
- to get to your room you must walk through the bar, pool and restaurant area which can feel a little intimidating
- the entertainment, for a hotel so far out, is not very good
- the rooms are only cleaned every second day but when they are it's to a high standard
- we stopped in room 253 which is on the top floor. There are only 3 floors and I'm glad we did because anything lower than this tends to give you views of a graffiti wall from the balcony. So I would strongly recommend when requesting/booking your room you request rooms on the top floor because we had a beautiful view of tarida beach
- if you like a holiday with a ly-in this may not be the complex for you as the entertainments team start playing music, which echo's around the complex from 10am

In short, a fairly good hotel in a lovely location but Tarida Beach may be a little quiet for some so do your research on the area before booking. This hotel should be a comfy base to explore the island. With views overlooking the sea if you get the right room(s).

I personally think car hire is a must when stopping here! Be careful though of minimum parking spaces.

We came here to get some good weather and relax. The hotel was clean and near to the beach about 3 minutes walk from the hotel. A quiet location. We went all inclusive and the food was good and a fair variety too. A 20 minute bus ride will take you into San Antoni, a lively resort with music, clubs, bars and beaches. The bus was 2 euros 95 each way. We also took a short boat across to Cala De Bou Reggae beach. A nice day with a good caribean cocktail! Great holiday would go to San Antoni as prefer to be in a livelier place.

THis hotel is next to the beach that I have been going to every year for 35 years so I may be bias but it really is in a great position - there is a glossier hotel at the other end of the beach but its three times as expensive - and the point about Cala Tarida is the beach is where you want to be - the sea is lovely and calm and shallow ish - so perfect for kids. I have stayed here about three times and its basically what you pay for - a very clean room - totally serviceable - no frills but great and not too small. My children love it as it has a fabulous children's pool surrounded by palm trees. The beach is right on your doorstep (down a steep hill) with beach bars - we usually hire a car to get around to other beaches in the area - Ibiza Town is about 20 mins by taxi or maybe an hour by bus - San Antonia is 20 mins by bus - 10 mins by car. We don't use the children's club - the security is not such that you can drop them off and return for them like in some hotels - food ok - but there are places to eat around - we usually go B and B

Room Tip: ASk for a room by the kids pool - its the pretty part
