“Nice hotel!”
Reviewed August 3, 2009

We stayed at Victoria Hotel for 4 nights. It is situated in Talamanca area, 5 minutes by car from Ibiza town. It is a nice location if you want quiet on your resting time. We had a clean spacey room on 3rd floor. The room has air condition, tv, a small fridge, save box(payable) and a nice big balcony with a terrific view of Talamanca beach and Ibiza port and castle. The hotel has also a nice swimming pool and a snack bar downstairs. We rented a car from the hotel and outside from hotel there were also a small parking place, so customers park their cars.
We didn't try the breakfast because we never wake up early, but we tried the dinner buffet and it was average.
The only big disadvantage of the hotel was the staff. They weren't willing to help if they didn't had a profit of money.
Overall, our stay was very pleasant , and if I would come back to Ibiza, I think I would choose Victoria Hotel again!!!

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a week long stay at The Hotel Victoria Talamanca. This hotel is rated as a 3 star but in our opinion it should be rated as a 4 star. It certainly isn't The Ritz but we feel we got what we paid for and more!
The hotel itself is situated in a quiet part of Talamanca away from the madness of the town but is easily accessible by bus or taxi. The bus stop is directly across the road from the hotel - buses run every 30 mins and cost €1.40 each way - By taxi it costs €8 and by foot it takes around 40 mins - it's a nice walk by day but wouldn't attempt it in the evening time especially if you happen to be wearing heels!
Our room was spotless and was cleaned daily including fresh towels. We were lucky enough to get a room with a double bed which was very comfortable. Our room also had an air-con (which wasn't too loud), a small fridge, safety deposit box, and a fine bathroom with power shower, magnetic mirror and hairdryer.
Front desk staff was extremely polite and helpful. It's handy to know that you can buy large bottled water at Reception as there are no shops or supermarkets around the general vicinity of the hotel. We inquired about car hire another day and the Receptionist was able to organize this for us. We were picked up from hotel by car Hire Company to collect our car and then dropped back to hotel when we left the car back to them two days later.
Breakfast was included in our package (8.15 to 11am). This was a continental style buffet breakfast and although there wasn't a huge selection - we always managed to find something that we both liked to eat. There was freshly squeezed orange juice available every morning which was an added bonus.
The bar area is directly beside the pool and at nighttime played nice chilled out music - great place for a pre dinner drink or before you hit the town!
Not a lot of Asian type restaurants around the Ibiza town or general area so if you are looking for a really good Thai Restaurant we would strongly recommend Basil Thai in Jesus (about 3mins away from hotel by taxi costing €5). We found this beautiful restaurant on our last night and were so sorry that we hadn't found it sooner. Everything about this place is superb from the decor to the food.
Back to Hotel Victoria. The only negative comment we would have to make and it really is very small but we thought it worth mentioning. On their website it states that the beach is 50m away. Ok, the sea itself might be 50m away but it's no spot for sunbathing so if you are looking for a beach to sunbathe on with sunbeds - that beach is about 10 minute walk away .
All in this entire hotel is a great place to stay and would have no trouble in recommending it to anyone.

  • Liked — Value for money and cleanliness
  • Disliked — distance to sunbathing beach

We stayed here for my partner's 30th birthday for a week and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
We went half-board, breakfast and dinner were both fulfilling every day. We ate lunch quite many times at the pool bar, inexpensive and tasty.
Our room had a view to the city and beach and we liked it a lot.
Room was clean and reasonably-sized.
Pool area was lovely with lots of sunshine and fun games (table tennis & minigolf).
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Lobby Internet cheap.
About 3 Km (NOT 8KM!) to Ibiza Town, bus stop really close and convenient. Walking distance not bad either, just remember to take lots of water with you!
The area is quiet, but it suited us really well, as we didn't want to go clubbing more than once ;)
If you're looking for a calmer holiday on Ibiza, we'd recommend Victoria spot on!

Euro for Euro this is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in and I can't honestly even find any minor niggles to comment on.

This is a recently refurbished 3* hotel which is so well-run I am sure I will be returning again next year if not before the end of this summer. I was also there last summer.

Why do I like it?

Location - situated in quiet, underrated Talamanca but right on a cheap and quick bus route into Ibiza Town. Most of the rooms also have a quite magnificent view over Talamanca Bay and Ibiza Town citadel. Talamanca is charming - unspoilt and fringed with nice little bars and restaurants.

Quality - the rooms are all well appointed and spotlessly clean with excellent bathrooms and really good showers. All the public rooms are spotless and places like the bar, restaurant and pool areas are all well maintained and modern.

The Staff - friendliness and helpfulness personified right down from the management to cleaners. Not an easy trick I guess as the clientele here is very broad ranging from clubbers to older folk and the odd young family.

Value - great rooms and a good range of breakfast and dinner foods and (not expensive) drinks. Of course this is not cordon bleu so you won't feel guilty of you pop off to one of those nearby restuarants for dinner or skip breakfast (cooked of course if you want it) because you were out clubbing.

I could go on but this is a special little hotel which is excellently run.

  • Liked — it is so efficiently run and maintained
  • Disliked — nothing

I stayed at the Victoria hotel for a week a couples of year ago in the period of June. The hotel is nice and have been lately refurbished. I has a cute small pool, area bar downstairs. The room was a little tiny for a single room, but clean and tidy. The receptionist was friendly and helpfull. The beach was 400mt down.

However for the location itself in Playa Talamanca, is not very connected to ibiza town, there are some bus running, but once i had waited over an hour at the bus stop. The beach is nice, not overcrowded or with loud music as in Playa d'en Bossa; a little bit to much quite for my taste.

So it's good for married couple or aged people, but if you wanna more action stay somewhere else.

Talamanca, General Manager at Hotel Victoria, responded to this review, June 20, 2011
Dear guest,

We want to thank you for your review they are very important for us to improve our services. Unfortunately there is little we can do about the delay of the buses, although we have complained about the service and it is now working better. As for the beach, it is, indeed, overcrowded in some places, but you can always enjoy some privacy next to Hotel Simbad or in Sa Punta and also all kinds of activities in Playa Talamanca. We want to thank you again for your and we'll keep improving our services.

Kind regards,
Vicente Marí,
General Manager

We ended up at this hotel for one night as our intended hotel was over booked. Apparently this is not unusual in August.

The hotel was very pleasant. The rooms were a reasonable size and were very clean. The public areas are large and clean.

The pool is not huge, but is pleasant, and there are a number of beds around it. The bar area is by the side of the pool and there were plenty of tables and chairs.

There is a selection of games, including a pool table, and pinball, in an air conditioned area by the pool.

The food was above average with a reasonable selection.

The main drawback is the area. Everytihing in Ibiza town closes between 1pm and 5pm, but this hotel is really in the middle of nowhere and suffers even more as a result. There seems to be a waterpark under construction about a mile away, but that's it. There is a single cafe opposite, but even that doesn't serve anything except drinks during "siesta".

If you want a quiet self contained hoilday with nice rooms and reasonable food, then it is fine. If you want a bit more action, then go elsewhere.
