My partner and I were booked to stay a week at The Simbad's sister hotel Victoria in Talamanca for the week commencing the 26th August 2013. On our arival at The Victoria we were told that the hotel was full, we were offered a week's stay at The Simbad in a double sea view room for no extra charge. We immediately accepted and were ever so glad we did. Our room was lovely, amazing view of Talamanca bay and Ibiza town. Air conditioning worked well, large bathroom. Our room was cleaned to a high standard every day by very friendly staff. The free Internet in the room was a little slow at times however it worked quite adequately in the reception area. Nice flat screen tv in the room but only has Spannish speaking stations, not really a problem as we didn't go to Ibiza to watch the telly : ) Nice touch that soft drinks and water are provided free of charge every day in the mini bar in the room. We had booked a double room but were given a room with two single beds, when this was mentioned to the staff at reception they imedidiately organised for the two beds to be made up as a huge double bed. I have noticed that some people's review of this hotel mention that the staff are unfriendly, we found the opposite, the manager, the reception staff the cleaning staff and the dining room staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The pool is lovely, it's right on the sea front. Our only complaint about this hotel is, please go and buy some mattresses for the sun loungers round the pool they are ever so uncomfortable, after all, this is a four star hotel.
We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

We stayed for 4 nights at the end of July for a wedding nearby. Whilst the area was very good, lots of restaurants and bars, we found the hotel to be lacking. There was virtually no atmosphere, it was very clinical and sterile. The pool area was small and the sunbeds very uncomfortable. The restaurant food was ok in the evening, but the breakfast was poor, and the manager and staff very dismissive and sometimes rude.. All in all would return to the area but not this hotel.l.l

Had a wonderful holiday very impressed with this hotel. The staff on reception excellent and helpful, kitchen staff and waiting staff excellent, food very good choice and well presented. Bar staff not helpful only used them the once went outside for a more cheerful atmosphere. Lovely pool lots of sun beds but hardly any umbrellas this needs to be sorted as it is so hot. Glass panels on pool need a good clean. Bedrooms spotless and all areas of the hotel. Views stunning, enjoyed the view while eating our meals. Excellent spot for holiday, easy to get into ibiza town would stay here again. Internet not good and no English television in room not that the television was a big deal.

Room Tip: We had a room on back of hotel very quiet, we chose half board instead of sea view, we did not spend...

My boyfriend and I stayed for a week in May 2013. We knew we were not looking for the chav style of San antonio so wanted to be well away from that. This hotel is near Old Ibiza town if you fancy a good stroll there or its 10 mins in a taxi. We found there wasn't much near Simbad hotel for nightlife (small bays and beaches and quiet bars if that's what you want) so we ventured into old town lots. We loved it there, stunning town and you can catch the short ferry back round to talamanca and the hotel. We went to different beaches in the day: las salines and en bossa by taxi from old town and loved both! Even saw the pm on las salines - its good for celebrity spotting! Hotel was great as a quiet, safe base but we would like to be closer next time. The breakfast was fantastic at simbad - set us up for the day and views over the water and boats are stunning. Well worth what we paid to be secure and see the views each morning. P.s. there is a great shop/off license with cash point 10 steps out the front door of hotel for necessary beer, wine and nuts to consume on the balcony! Would also add the male receptionist could have smiled or asked how our stay was when we checked out!

Room Tip: Sea view room is stunning - not sea view looks out on to the back street.

This hotel is in a lovely position, right by the sea and a short walk to local amenities. The hotel is very clean, open and airy and the staff are friendly. I came here with friends, but it is just a popular with couples and families. We didn't eat here, but the restaurant was busy the time we were there, so I'm guessing the food was good. I would certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: If you can, go for the room with the sea view. We didn't, and faced the street which was quiet...

nice hotel, nice cleaning ladies. But no tv (after "fixing" the TV there was still no sound). Cleaning ladies could clean more carefully, there was a lot of dust on the floor and under the bed of the sea view room. Many people complained about the lack of internet connection, or it was extremely slow. A group of Belgian people couln't even use internet to book tickets. Other guests went to other places nearby to use internet and I saw a womsn turn crazy after days without a proper internet connection. Even after days they could't fix the internet. So, in short, nice hotel, but with techniques from another century. Do not go to this hotel if you depend on using internet.

Dear client

thank you for share your comments in tripadvisor.
We are working to arrange with our internet conexion,
we have more than 6 megas but sometimes when there are more than 150 clients connected at same time it,s difficult to have a good speed.
Belgican people have used our computers at reception when internet was failed and all clients use to print their boarding passes without charge at reception.
for sure this review will make we arrange with this situation

The first impression of this hotel when entering was of exceptional cleanliness and air conditioned tranquility. The reception staff were all most helpful at all times and we have to give a huge thank you to Julian who helped us out of a return flight problem by going that ' extra mile'.

The standard and variety of the food in the restaurant was exceptional at all times with something for everyone. I liked the steaks, lamb chops and assorted fish offered most days freshly griddled to order in front of you. The way the food was laid out buffet style was meticulous and the restaurant manager well deserves praise for his vigilant efforts. We noticed him on many occasions checking the quality and presentation of his food.

The rooms we had were both sea facing with balcony and overlooked the beautiful Talamanca bay and Ibiza old town which was further enhanced after dark by lighting from the walk way and the Church on top of the old town. Cruise ships visit Ibiza port regularly and they too present a very special sight after dark with all their lights blazing.

A bonus for anyone wanting to rent a car to see the true Ibiza, is that just across the road and directly opposite to the hotel entrance is a very good hire car company by the name of Carisma Car Hire, where we rented a small car for the week at a very reasonable rate. The staff their too were very helpful and allowed us to park the car in their car park overnight ; we would certainly recommend their firm.

Overall, our experience was superb.

Room Tip: Sea view balcony is the best.
