Picked this hotel as a late night stop gap between the channel tunnel and Bruges. Advertised as 24hr check in - called particularly to check that post midnight check -in would be ok and were assured it wouldn't be a problem.
Arrived at 3am - gates locked, no one in reception, no keys. WE HAD TO SLEEP IN OUR CAR!
Do not book this hotel, they then had the cheek to try and charge us a cancellation fee!! They are supposed to be coming back to us with compensation but shockingly - not heard anything yet.

We were on our way to Brugge and our first stop after the two hours trip on the ferry was Fasthotel in Dunkirk. This is a perfect hotel for maybe couple of nights. Very basic but comfortable and pleasant. There is no air-con, and you will find only soap in the bathroom. There are no hangers for your coat or any hooks for that matter. But there is a comfortable bed, clean bathroom and TV if you speak French :) We had a room on facing very busy road and my sleep was disturbed but my husband slept like a log. Probably the funniest thing was finding the reception in the morning transformed into breakfast room, a bit awkward as we were checking out through a reception desk covered with pastries and cereals. We paid 46.80EUR for one night. Perfect!

This is a budget hotel with free wifi and parking, but nothing can make up for the fact that we got no sleep at all when we stayed here because of the noise from the room next door. The occupants stayed up all night ( from midnight when they got in until 4.30am when we left for the ferry) talking, and due to the complete lack of any sound insulation between rooms, we could not sleep at all. They may aswell have been in the room with us. We tried knocking the wall and the door to no avail, and as reception is not staffed overnight, we could not request assistance or a change of room. The response from the hotel when we reported our concerns the next day was slow and completely unacceptable.
