We ate here several times about twenty years ago when camping with the family. This time we stayed two nights as a couple, on a half board basis. The food was excellent once more - simple, no choice, but well chosen and well cooked. They could not have been kinder to us, even picking us up from down in the valley when we were stranded with a puncture. Note - we had intended to cycle up, but it would have been a major challenge. The setting is superb, and we love the farmhouse atmosphere. Our room was lovely - just a short walk from the main building where the restaurant is. Note that you have to go down to the valley to get anything for lunch. On a half board basis - which is very good value - you get a slightly restricted menu. We paid extra one night to have the salad included as another starter - it is spectacularly good, and well worth it at least once!

I had found 1 review of this Auberge (Inn) on Tripadvisor and after viewing the website and a couple of nearby hotels, my wife and I decided to go for it. We were not disappointed. Not so much an Inn, no bar and fixed meal times, but more of a "gite". The farm is at the end of a long winding climb through the countryside near Compeyre and Millau and has lovely views out across the hills. The rooms are in a separate block and we were in a ground floor room with a lovely curved ceiling above us. The bed was comfortable enough and we slept well.
The meal was amazing - everything that can be produced on the farm is - meat, poultry, vegetables, salad. We had a 5 course meal which was fresh, tasty and so filling. All washed down with a lovely local wine. Breakfast was simple but very tasty with lots of home-made jams to go with the crusty bread and butter.
It's only 15 minutes or so off the A75 motorway and 10 minutes north of the now famous Viaduc de Millau which is truly a wonder to see and to drive over.
Well worth the detour but book early - it was full the night we were there.

This was the third B&B in a two-week stay in central France.

This great B&B is located ABOVE Compeyre, a small village overlooking the Tarn river. Access is via a narrow, switchbacked road, but the views and the quiet are well worth the ride (and yet, no more than 15 minutes away from Millau).

The 5 chambres d'hôtes are in a separate building (we had the top one on the left, with a little balcony overlooking the valley below), away from the smells and sounds of the Auberge itself, where meals are prepared and served.

And it is the table d'hôte meals that truly make this B&B special... I can still remember our appetizer salad on one evening, with melted onions and croutons! (too bad that there isn't a little souvenir recipe book for sale).

The wifi worked well, but required the services of the owner's son to make operational.

All in all, great location and great meals. Recommended.
