Our 3-night stay in this small, new hotel went very well. We were there to see the Loire Valley chateaux, and we did. It is practically on the edge of Chambord's forests, and I had no difficulty negotiating my way alone in a rental car to Cheverny, Chenonceau and Fougeres-sur-Bievres on a day when my husband staved off a brief illness in our hotel room. My overall hotel impression is "white." The stuccoed exterior is white and our room was almost entirely white, spacious, and airy with both a front and a back door. It fronted on a lawn overlooking a small pond with a church steeple, an orchard, and fairly attractive outbuildings beyond. A restaurant a half block away had lovely garden seating and was quite good. We ate one breakfast at the hotel; it was adequate but would probably have been free in an American hotel--not 8 euros. As with the rest of our trip to France, we preferred getting the bulk of our food from a bakery or grocery in the village. The bed was a comfy king, but I think it was one of several on our French trip that only had a bottom sheet and comforter when sleeping under a top sheet alone would have been more comfortable. We did not ask for another sheet.
