I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel De La Poste!

Nice, large, tidy room.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Well catered breakfast and dinner.
Personalized and well chosen walks.

Thanks PETITDEMANGE family for the warm welcome.

Room Tip: I stayed in a garden side room and the sound of water flowing past the hotel was very soothing ;-)

Like many old hotels we encountered, this one had been thououghly and thoughtfully refurbished and displayed all the benefits and disadvantages of this process.

The young man on reception was pleasant and informative. Our room was quite large with a double bed and bunks and nicely decorated and furnished. The bathroom was adequate but the shower nozzle was difficult to control and manipulate. The WC was separate with a noisy sliding door. There were squeaky floorboards above us. Our room overlooked the main road which was busy with heavy trucks during the afternoon but we were not disturbed during the night.

Dinner was fine and breakfast OK but with no cold meats but with eggs and fruit. The staff at checkout were more interested in chatting to each other than serving us.

This stay was at the end of Day 17 of our 25 day trek through Les Vosges.
Previous night: Hotel Restaurant au Lion in Ribeauville
Tomorrow night: Chalet-Hotel Le Collet near Col de la Schlucht

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back if you are not an early riser.

Like other reviewers we spent a night as part of a walking holiday. We arrived tired and wet in a rain storm to a warm and friendly welcome from mother at reception and son who took care of our backpacks. The hotel has two buildings one of which has rooms above the indoor swimming pool. These are modern with a clean and bright "bathroom" - no bath but perfectly serviceable shower, well lit and clean. In the main building there has been an investment in six rooms equipped for guests with disabilities and as such the hotel has developed a loyal following among people with mobility issues. .

There is a pleasant garden with a stream running through it. We had trout for dinner freshly caught from the tank fed by the stream. The dining room is in two sections; we were placed in a conservatory style extension with light and modern decor by the window with a view over the garden while a large group of elderly people were in the main room; our dinner was off the included menu but we were not charged any extra. Our packed lunch given us as we left for another day's hike was plentiful and well balanced.

A cosy wood-panelled bar is part of the original hotel. Grandfather who trained at the Cumberland Hotel and on the Great Western Railway as a youngster seemed delighted to have guests from London with whom he could converse in English and share his pride in the improvements the next generation had achieved.

All in all this was a very good experience for a modest hotel. Le Bonhomme the village is nothing special however other than its convenience as a stopover.

Spent one night here as part of our walking-trip. Friendly reception. Large room. Small bathroom. Clean, but not special. The shower was a small plastic cubical. The garden in the back is nice to relax. We didn't visit the indoor swimming-pool, though. A nice plus is the friendly staff. Breakfast was a little bit poor. Dinner was good.

A perfect example of a good 'Logis', friendly attentive service with really good food of the region. A useful base for touring Alsace, either the wine route or the mountains.

we stayed one night in this hotel from the "Logis de France" chain to enjoy the culture, the nature en the good food of Alsace region of France. The hotel is family owned and it was shown by the friendly reception and service. Our room at the garden site was clean and quiet, but a bit small. In the evening we had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. We tried the 3-course menu, offering regional food options. In the morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast from the buffet.
Le Bonnehomme village is just 15 minutes drive from Kaysersberg, a historic city with beautiful houses from the middle ages.

We've stayed at la Poste on many occasions and never been disappointed. It was one of our favorite weekend getaways. While the town of Le Bonhomme is pretty much non-existant, Kaysersburg is nearby as are a number of other delighful stops on the Alsatian wine route. The hotel is clean, quiet, between my pitiful French and the staffs' willingness to tolerate it, we were able to communicate sufficiently. The hotel has a stream running out back, the food is delicious and it's just a wonderful trip.
