Attended for a lunch before a concert on a Sunday at the winnery .Red Hot Summer tour with
Jimmy Barnes .Private parking compered with regular ticket holders. The meals were excellent and staff were very friendly, a balcony over looking Port Phillip Bay with excellent views made the atmosphere for the day.Easy access to concert area.Would do this again before a concert anytime Lovely gardens with roses every where . “Avoid!”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

We unfortunately chose Morningstar as our venue to celebrate Christmas Day. The limited menu sounded good in theory but the from start to finish it was a major disappointment and was extremely overpriced for the amount and quality of the food we received. Portions were very small and every course was cold including the mains. The salmon was rare and my partners steak was overcooked. The service was the final straw as the wait staff were unfriendly, unhelpful and we waited for over 35 minutes for the final two inclusions, one of which we still didn't receive and one of which they had to substitute as they had run out. When we asked to speak to the manager, or request was ignored. Appalling!!

“Great Afternoon Lunch Mid-week”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

We happened upon some friends when we were visiting Frankston and they decided we go out to Morning Star Estate for lunch. My partner is in a wheel chair and she was immediately accommodated on a larger table overlooking the rose garden. A great first impression to start.
They try to promote local food and liquor and have a very nice local Witbier.
For lunch three of us had the scallops as an entree size and I had the gnocchi. As I had a late breakfast it was lunch we were not that hungry so opted to get some chat potatoes with a salad.
A reasonable priced pinot grigio was our second choice as they had run out of the Heggies Riesling we were wanting.
Lunch was very quiet and we were one of only three tables in the restaurant, this was a bonus however the meal was a bit pricey for a midweek lunchtime, probablt what they serve when they are fully booked on the weekends. Some mid week specials might increase their trade.
I recall going here about three years ago to see a Jimmy Barnes concert where Ian Moss and another of the Cold Chisel entourage played. A great day out, I see them promoting a similar concert in February which would be a great day out.
All in all a diverse venue and well worth the trip out to Mt Eliza from Melbourne.

“Beautiful gardens & view but very overpriced food.”
Reviewed September 22, 2012 via mobile

Morningstar has a magnificent aspect overlooking the bay with hundreds of roses & specy gardens. We found the food fresh & tasty but very overpriced for what is offered. The meals come in very small portions and if u want salad, potatoes etc then you need to order & pay for them on top of your main. No value for money here but lovely to sample a crisp glass of vino & stroll amongst the roses.
