“Nice Little Hotel near the Port”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

I liked staying in the hotel. Rooms were not big so dont get surprised as rooms in Japan are always compact. Its connected with the Japan Rail and also has a decent shopping centre with AEON. Rooms were very clean and neat. No gyms and no pools.Another thing is that the hotel is located at the 16th floor so you may get confused as I underwent myself. Its far away from the main action of the Tokyo City but its well connected with rail. Breakfast is okay but the view from the lobby overseeing the port is very good....overall a nice business hotel with what you pay...

I stayed here for a business meeting and found it a reasonable place to stay. The lobby of the hotel is on the 16th floor, which was a little confusing when we first got out of the taxi. The room was moderately sized for a Japanese business hotel. All the amenities needed were provided. There was a good breakfast buffet.

It is not exactly convenient. We used taxis to get to and from Shinagawa station (it is NOT nearby).

This hotel was clean and neat, with spacious rooms by Tokyo standards for a fair price. It has good connectivity to most of Tokyo. It is a bit far flung from the city centre but has a decent price to compensate for that. Not many restaurants or much entertainment around. Ideal for business travellers on a short trip.

Room Tip: Try to opt for a front-view room!

Well organised and clean, perfect and efficient if you stay in the buusiness area of Shinagawa.
From a tourisitc pespective, it is very far from Tokyo attractions or nice area = more than 30/40 minutes by train/taxi cab.

It's hard to find a hotel that is affordable in Tokyo. TripAdvisor through I found Sunroute Shinagawa Seaside. Here airy rooms and clean, large bathroom with bathtub and shower great. How to decorate with white sheets along with the bass tones of the curtains of the room to do so gently. Management and staff helpful, friendly, they will help all difficulties and answer all your questions. There is really very, very worthwhile. Necessarily think people should understand this place

As some other had commented, this hotel location is pretty good for business travel especially your business activities are around the Odaiba(Tokyo Big Sight) , or around Shinagawa area. Typically what I do is to take the Narita Express from the airport to the Shinagawa station, and then walk outside to the taxi line for a quick taxi ride of about $9 USD to the hotel. Just say to the taxi driver "Hote-ru SunRou-to Shinagawa Seaside des". Yes it's my broken Japanese but does the trick every time, or just print out the hotel map from the website.
The room is small, and one may even say it's tiny but this is typical of room size in business hotels in Japan. It came with a LCD TV/monitor, free wifi, a double bed, and even a massage chair which is basically a chair with no legs but can vibrate a bit, pretty useless IMO. The modular, molded one piece bathroom came with a toilet that has "shower" functions. The real shower is pretty decent with enough hot water and pressure. Shampoo/conditioner/body soap are of good quality products. The double bed is decent and provided good sleep quality.
Check-in lobby area has 2 PCs for guests to use. The front desk can communicate in English and they used to give guests a Japanese energy drink upon check-in but no more. Corporate cutback I guess and it's too bad because I thought that was a really nice touch (and memorable feature) from the hotel to give the just arrived (and presumably exhausted) guests some drinks. The view out of the lobby (hotel starts in the 18th floor I think) is also pretty impressive, as one can see the Tokyo bay and harbor area, lots of Shinkansen trains coming in/out of train yard, and also planes coming into or out of Haneda airport. Also a good look at the monorail line to Haneda.
The restaurant provided breakfast with both western and Japanese style dishes. Tried the hotpot "shabu-shabu" dinner once and was pretty good quality also.
Overall, it's a good value business hotel in an expensive city like Tokyo.

I always stay here when I go on business trip because my company has the contract with this place. But I would not choose to stay if I go on vacation. The reason-1 it's inconvenient to get there from Tokyo-Narita international airport. No direct airport bus. 2-it's also inconvenient to get there from Tokyo-Haneda domestic airport. There is direct bus but it's only 1 or 2 per hour. 3-if you use airport monorail, you will have to switch to another train and if you carry a big luggage, it's a PAIN. 4-the price is fairy high for the room size. 5-breakfast has limited selection for the Americans. 6-the room is too warm and cannot control below the pre-set temp. (I think they set 73F as min temp. You cannot open the window so the room stayed too warm for me) 7-you will have to remember to grab their free toothbrush, hair brush, razor. They don't supply them in your room like the other hotels in Japan do. No shower cap. 8-the bed was too hard! I always feel like I am sleeping on the floor. The two good thing about this place are; 1- you can shop near by Jusco (sort of like Walmart in Japan) until midnight. It's a min walk fro the hotel. 2-there is a PC (Internet) in your room for free of charge.
