“Great for a short stay in Tokyo”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

A very well priced and comfortable hotel located in the heart of Omori. Situated around the corner from Omori Kaigan station and just a few minutes walk to Omori station makes it very convenient as a base for travelling and for shopping. Haneda airport is just a stone's throw away as well. The hotel staff were polite and obliging and the room I stayed in, though considered small, was very well maintained and very clean and quiet as well. You can leave your luggage and belongings in their small store room if your flight leaves in the afternoon. The western style breakfast included in the price was not particularly spectacular, unfortunately, but was adequate in view of the high cost of living in Tokyo.A great loction too, I might add. Omori has everything to offer including shopping centres and malls, high end boutiques, world class restaurants and fast food, travel agents, convenient coin operated lockers (located at Omori station and downstairs around the corner), convenient stores, and two main supermarkets/department stores(Daishin & Kadoya) located on the other side of the railway line. All in all, very reasonable. I recommend staying here. In fact, I have just booked another few nights at Sunroute Omori for February 2013.

Stayed here on the final night of our trip (as it was close to Haneda airport and we had an early flight). The place was older but actually had larger rooms than the other hotels we stayed in. The staff was friendly and helpful in facilitating our early departure and travel to the airport. Very close to the Keikyu station. Very affordable.

Another of the reviewers clearly states the Omorikaigan stop for the Keikyu line, but for some reason I got off on the Omorimachi stop the first time I tried to find the hotel. Do not confuse them! OmoriKAIGAN.

The red lit up sign is in katakana as well, the entrance has some Roman characters, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you absolutely cannot read at all because the Keikyu line is not as plastered with Roman characters as the JR line and there are no english voiceover messages. You also have to keep in mind that the Keikyu line has local and different kinds of express trains, and Omorikaigan is only available on a local train, so you either have to take an express train to a bigger stop to transfer or get on a local train to begin with.

The bed felt weird and hard, but we were so happy to finally get there that it wasn't an issue, we were just staying for a stopover before our flight the next morning. They definitely had the best air conditioning of the places that we stayed- which is important in August, but perhaps not the rest of the year.

If you follow instructions well you should be able to find the hotel, it really is like 50 feet from train stop exit.

Rooms are VERY VERY tiny. But cheap. Rooms are VERY VERY tiny. But close to airport. Rooms are VERY VERY tiny. But service is excellent. I think you get the idea. :)

Note: About 3000yen taxi charge to HND if you need to be at the airport for an early morning flight before the trains are running (as we did).

*Note to Tripadvisor: The name of the Hotel is Sunroute not Sanroute"

I stayed here from Dec 1-7, 2010 for $70 Canadian per night. It is not hard to find. Here are two options of getting there. Take either an airport bus or airport train to Shinagawa station. You may either take the Keikyu Line to Omorikaigan Station and walk 20 meters to the hotel or take the JR Line to Omori station and then walk about 600 meters. If you look at the map of the hotel provided by the online booking agents (expedia etc) you will see the Keikyu line right next to where the hotel is located.

My room was small but very clean and had all the amenities I needed (wifi, tv, small fridge, some storage) and was in a reasonably good location of central Tokyo. The staff spoke English and were very helpful and courteous. Given the price, the access to transporation, the level of cleanliness, and the staff, I would recommend this hotel, especially for solo travelers who do not require a lot of space.
