The location of the hotel is not very convenient for walking but taking a taxi will take you to Shinagawa quite easily. Overall the hotel does offer a nice lounge for Gold and Diamond members with free drinks as well as good breakfast. As with everything in Japan they are sticklers to rules and mentioned that guests are not allowed in the lounge.

The hotel says it has a pool and a gym, but that is not true. It is in a separate building with paid access to the gym. The gym is quite basic and dated but the pool is nice.

Overall, the stay was good. Staff is always very pleasant in Japan.

I was staying with my family. My husband travels a lot for work so the room was paid for with points. Because of the executive status we were allowed to eat in the exec. lounge which was AWESOME! During dinner hours there was about 12 bottles of top shelf spirits to choose from. A bottle of red wine, white wine and a bottle of Champagne. I enjoyed having wine and champagne with my dinner.
The staff was very helpful and eager to make our stay comfortable. The bathroom had a blow dryer and a stocked box of toiletries. We had a delievered paper every morning and a electric kettle with coffee and teas to choose from. The bedding was new and very nice. The bed was firm but soft. I slept very well.
The walk to the train was about 10 minutes. There was a near by convenience store called Family Mart that we frequented as well. It was located in the same building.
There were great views from the rooms of Tokyo but I couldnt open the windows to take a picture without glass. You could see that there were balconies but I guess during the remodel they closed them up. There is a pool and fitness center but its $20 a day to use. I didnt go to the spa. They have a restaruant and bar but we didnt eat at it. The prices were pretty expensive. for example, hot tea was $9,

Although the hotel is impeccable and the staff extremely eager to help, it does not compensate for the over pricing when compared to other Tokyo hotels.
We spent New Year's Eve there after a full week at another recently opened hotel in Shinjuku, the granbell, and the difference in the atmosphere and feeling was very big. True the rooms in the Marriott are bigger but the don't even have a stereo where to connect your phone or music player. Disappointing for a recently refurbished hotel as well the 80s feeling of the rooms,

All in all the hotel is ok, nothing obvious to complain about and the staff is attentive but I will not repeat.

This venue just opened DEC 2013, and new addition to Marriott group and also Shinagawa area hotels...Marriott members should be really excited, two Marriott group hotels in Shinagawa area...and this place doesn't disappoint, in fact I think this is as good / better than Prince Shinagawa or Intercontinental. Marriott is priced right and better value.

So this hotel used to be a Japanese business hotel, Marriott bought it and renovated. Majority of hotel workers slide from the old business hotel, but they have good skillsets (like most of Japanese hotel workers are).Building itself is within office complex, like many Japanese modern hotels are.

Hotel prepared a welcome gift in my room, which was very nice and never seen in other places like Intercontinental or Hilton...thanks Mr. Marriott!

I used the concierge desk to check in / out. Had three guys helping me to check in.

Room is good size, has plenty of electrical outlets, fast free wifi, and comfortable bed. Fridge is roomy enough to keep take out left over.

I had free breakfast at concierge floor...keep in mind, the concierge floor is on the first floor and not very big, if you are familiar with the one in the US, you might be surprised. Regardless, the waiters working there are awesome and make you a fresh meal in kitchen.

There are a few restaurants located within the hotel, very elegant Japanese venue on top floor with ladies in kimono. First floor venue is more casual western style. Both very nice but tad pricy.

There's also a very nice fitness center with personal fitness instructors. they also have tennis court, yoga studio, and massage room.

It's walking distance to Shinagawa station or take a shuttle bus.

This place is by far better value than Intercontinental Shingawa, and competitive to Prince hotel in the area.

Room Tip: Being a foreigner is the get out jail free card. Marriott loyalty member is a plus.

Formerly the la Foret hotel, the Marriott incarnation is excellent. The staff is extremely courteous and the location perfect. Everything has been redone from the rooms to the lobby. My only complaint is not enough Japanese food for breakfast.

Room Tip: Walk over Takanawa down to Shiba Keon, up the Hibiya Dori, past the Imperial Hotel, to Kodanshita, a...

I usually stay on the club floor of the Shinagawa Prince New Takanawa but wanted to stay at the Marriott since I have been an elite member for many years. It is about a 10 -15 minute walk from the train station and is located in the same building as offices and what appears to be apartments/condos. The staff is well trained and fluent in English. The rooms are nice but on the small size compared to US hotels and the Prince New Takanawa. What I appreciated the most is the ability to control the air conditioning during the winter months. Other hotels in Japan usually turn off the AC so the rooms get very hot. The club is located on the first floor and elite members can check in/out there. The atrium area near the front of the hotel is very impressive and the bar/restaurant is located there. If walking from the train station, the rear entrance is more convenient but the lobby is difficult to find. This is sure to be a popular hotel due to its location and US branding and will most likely be booked most of the time since only about half of the rooms are currently open.
