Excellent room (with sea view) and very good care and attention by all members of staff.
The breakfast was amazing and set us up for the day. We love the area around Gorleston Cliffs and we will book again soon.

This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel and as before, it was a very nice experience. The staff go out of their way to be friendly, polite and helpful. Our room was very big, clean and welcoming and the fan was much appreciated. We overlooked the car park but wasn't disturbed by noise at all. There was lots of choice for breakfast (cereals, yoghurt, pastries, fruit, toast etc) and the cooked English breakfast was perfectly cooked with quality ingredients. Service was really quick and the waitress (lady with short dark hair and glasses) was so friendly and attentive she should be praised highly for her professionalism. We had High Tea on the terrace one day and it was delicious, generous and definitely great value at £14 per person and the view overlooking the beach and gardens was perfect. The only downside to staying at this hotel is the car park. Its not very big and if you can't get a space when its busy there doesn't appear to be anywhere else to park nearby (the streets outside all seemed to have cars permanently parked there). All in all a really lovely place to stay, that I would highly recommend.

We had a great one night stay at the Cliff. All staff are friendly and accommodating. Our room was nicely decorated and the evening meal was good.We sat on the terrace and had afternoon drinks - it was a boiling hot day but there were plenty of parasols for shade. Would definitely return as it's only just over half an hour from where we live. Live acts appear occasionally as well.

Hotel and staff fantastic. Let down by food in restaurant which seems to have gone downhill. Visited on a Tuesday, group of 7. 5 meals cold, 2 meals returned as inedible, 2 chicken burgers burnt and tiny portions of chips still frozen inside! Table next to us also returning inedible food. All portìons small for amount paid. , Children's meals were actually bigger. Apparently normal chef was off but that is no excuse. An offer was not made to reduce the bill and not offered any compensation by young staff for our ruined evening. Tried Porterhouse near the beach next evening and were served double amount with far higher quality food that was actually cheaper. Real shame restaurant has gone downhill.

I booked a room at the Cliff and called to make a reservation for dinner only to be told the hotel was fully booked for that weekend!!

The hotel's website had taken my booking despite the hotel being full - understandably i was upset due to having had to enter my card details to confirm the reservation.

The receptionist, however, was brilliant. She immediately apologised and advised she would speak to her manager about the discrepancy and call me straight back. She did so as promised and offered me a further call back from her manager to apologise for the mistake.

Not a great first impression vis a vis being able to book without there being a room available but kudos to the receptionist who handled the situation brilliantly....
