“Great Weekend Break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2013

Spent weekend of 21-23 June at The Cliff Hotel. Great room, best bed I have ever slept in whilst away, and room looks liked it had been refurbished in the not too distant past, very clean with large flat screen tv. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely covered terrace area overlooking the sea. Bar food was very good, there is also a restaurant but we only had breakfast there. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice. Our room was on the first floor, didn't see any other so unable to recommend. One thing I would say is, as there is entertainment on in the hotel it may be noisy for some, didn't bother us and we slept OK but if you are a light sleeper bring your earplugs. Would return and would recommend to others.

Room Tip: Our room, 124, was on first floor although not booked as a sea view room, we could see the sea. Did...

Had a lovely night out at the cliff hotel, great food and a great atmosphere as well. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to get away from the normal in town restaurants. If your into sea fishing this would also be an Ideal place to bring your kit,as your only a stones throw from the sea.

Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay. The reviews we'd read complimenting the staff were entirely justified, everyone on duty was both pleasant and relaxed. Our standard double room was clean, bright and very comfortable, the food was very nice and the creme de la creme was the exquisite sea view terrace. A joy to overlook such a lovely beach.

3 night Thursday to Sunday stay in this hotel. Had a refurbished room with sea view. Comfortable, clean, good food , friendly staff. Room was too hot - staff provided a fan while this was being investigated. Modern and busy bar and terrace. Excellent value with Groupon voucher, afternoon tea on terrace very nice touch. Bit noisy Saturday night (room overlooked bar), but nothing to gripe about.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, don't pick a sea view room at the weekend.

The Cliff Hotel is situated above a lovely golden sands beach at Gorleston on Sea with easy access to Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads. We spent three nights at the hotel which exceeded our expectations. We occupied one of the newly refurbished rooms which although it did not have a sea view was spacious and the facilities were good.
The reception staff were friendly and efficient as all the staff were. The bar was acceptable and served food but we preferred to eat in the main restaurant which provided a varied menu and the food was excellent.

Room Tip: Room 120 is spacious and well appointed

very good value for money, excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.
the bar area and terrace are excellent with wonderful sea views. Our room could have done with a re-furb, but the bed was comfortable and the room was spotless, in all very impressed. would stay again and would reccommend to friends.

We took advantage of, (another,) tickles deal which included afternoon tea, although it was really a cream tea as no sandwiches were included, bed and breakfast all for a very reasonable £49! We checked in at the reception, being watched by a man in a mac with a gun and then found our own way to our room which we were very delighted with; an enormous bed in a refurbished room with modern furniture and an immaculate bathroom; only faults were that there are no hooks on the back of the door in the bathroom or a bin and no alarm clock in the bedroom but apart from that, brilliant with a delightful view over the new terrace and harbour. We had our cream tea on the terrace just off the very modern bar and enjoyed the views before going for a meal in Yarmouth. On our return we had to park our car on the road as the hotel was very busy and what a shock we got when we entered the hotel, a "dead" body at the bottom of the stairs surrounded by several people and a photographer snapping away! Fortunately we had seen a poster up saying that there was a Murder Mystery event on that evening otherwise it would have been a real shock! The hotel holds several of these events during the year as well as other events that seem just as popular. By 11.00 pm we were able to park the car back in the hotel carpark. A very comfortable night; a delicious breakfast served in an original part of the hotel by very smart and attentive waitresses. So all in all a lovely little break at a bargain price in a very up and coming hotel. I wish them every success as they are definitely working hard to keep the place full.

Room Tip: room 112 was very good
